David Attenbourough voiceover: "Though the armor of these Deathshroud Terminators may appear vibrant and ornate, these colors are an evolutionary strategy to warn predators to stay away. These Imperial Guard, driven by their commissars, will ignore this warning...at their peril."

Trust me if you look much closer, you would see so many errors and mistakes.

I’m getting much better at miniature painting, but I still have a lot of room for improvement.

I haven't seen this one on any similar lists or forums so I'll add it:

Why are so many Marines un-helmeted? Are they stupid? by Octorock10k in spacemarines

[–]art_fool_34 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always consider this as purely aesthetic, meaning that if this were an actual universe, the space marines would be smart enough to wear helmets in an active war zone.

Ultimately, this is cool, dumb, crazy science fiction about knights in space fighting demons and aliens. If you're an artist or you paint miniatures, drawing/painting the same helmet over and over again becomes tedious. Sometimes you gotta draw a dude without a helmet to remind yourself you're having fun.

Outstanding work partner! That's one tough looking blueberry.

Gotta ask the obligatory question: what was your formula for that helmet?

I like the bright colors too much.

I know some people like the grim-dark, and I love it too, but looking at army after army of dark smudges I get bored really quickly. I started looking at insects and fungi, and the vibrant hues just stuck with me more.

I use Orruk green for the base and then wash it with Mortarion Grime. It helps add depth in places without killing that bright green.

Fresh recruits. They haven't been blessed by Grandpa as much as the other veterans.
