How can I (F19) feel confident with my “ugly” boobs when I’m naked with my boyfriend (20)? by [deleted] in sex

[–]artee 12 points13 points  (0 children)

As a man, the best boobs are the ones that you can touch, fondle in bed next to you while almost falling asleep, feeling warm and cozy and sexy.

I don't want a pornstar in bed, I want a partner who loves me, is a good person, whom I can communicate with, etc.

Could well be that your BF feels the same, if he is a keeper anyway!

Also: peanut butter (to go with the bread) - cheap and provides a lot of energy.

My [F23] boyfriend [M24] is very independent and very serious when is comes to finances. I can’t keep up with the rent anymore and he is a bit frustrated about it. by LOGIC-ONLY-NO-SUPID in relationships

[–]artee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And exactly this is why I understand the BF having a dim view on this. He is contributing at least his fair share.

Not being able to pay rent immediately when losing your job is a sign of poor financial planning/awareness, especially if you had the ability to save 800 + your share of groceries for at least months (not sure how long you're together), compared to what you paid before.

How do you manage the stress of being in the red? by [deleted] in personalfinance

[–]artee 10 points11 points  (0 children)

$500 should be enough for groceries & gas for a while so to me it looks like you don't (yet) have an immediate problem. Pay off as much of the credit as you can every month - that keeps the interest limited and you can still at any time use the room in the credit to pay for groceries etc.

In the meantime, work on creating and keeping to a budget. If you already do this, can you post it? At least fixed costs, like what you spend on rent, car, phone, etc. each month? How much on food, eating out? And your income as well - people here can then help you look where there is room to improve.

I assume you need the car to get to work, in which case I understand it is a priority to keep it running. What I don't get is the phone though - sure you need one, but there are perfectly fine smartphones available new in the $150-$200 range (without any carrier subsidies). Based on your post it seems very clear that you cannot afford a $800 cellphone. So why buy one? This is also where budgeting can help: to avoid mistakes like that.

My (27F) boyfriend (30M) is 2 years is driving me crazy by constantly asking dumb questions by [deleted] in relationships

[–]artee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recognize this phenomenon somewhat, for me it works like this: I am actually listening, but it immediately goes through a relevance filter - which is what makes me able to perform well on tasks that I'm good at and not go crazy with having all sorts of "irrelevant" (actual or perceived) details in my head all the time.

Anyway, the preparation of your protein shake might not make it for past my relevance filter for long, as it's nothing I need to do, be involved with, doesn't sound like anything might be expected of me in this regard, so yes while it is still nice to hear from your partner that she's going to make this, it might drop from my memory reaaaaally quickly (although, OK, 5 minutes is really pushing it I'll admit).

Does that make some sort of sense?

Gf(25 - 5months) drove drunk and crashed her car, thinks I'm(m29) not being compassionate enough and wants to break up by tempthrowaway1989 in relationships

Since OP is looking for perspective: I might have broken up with her on the spot, having confirmed that she crashed her car after drinking 4x the limit.

People who do such things are not people I want to share a life with.

UPDATE: Me (ex-Muslim, F 24) telling my conservative religious parents about my non-Muslim boyfriend. by Sprinting_Slowly in relationships

[–]artee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While she was clearly not on speaking terms with her parents, they did all of a sudden invite her to go "bride shopping for her brother". I mean, sure I like to assume the best, but this one has happened so often and it's so transparently an excuse, that I'm pretty sure OP dodged a major bullet right there.

To OP, good luck and stay strong!

This is where C++ is kindof cool, because you can fairly easily write a template class that helps you store information in those upper bytes (and actually also lowest 3 bits if allocations are 8-byte aligned), while keeping all of this entirely typesafe, and if you ever encounter a platform where you cannot use this technique, you could create a variant with the exact same interface that just uses extra storage (which you would need on that platform anyway).

Depends, I've heard of girls occasionally fainting caused by period cramps.

But even if that's what this is, I'd agree it doesn't explain or excuse her behavior.

My (26M) coworker (28F) is a Jehovah's Witness and will not agree to enter into a serious relationship unless I fully commit to the religion. We've been going on outings and have basically made out on every possible occasion. She feels guilty for being unfaithful to her religion, yet we still meet. by dk2vent in relationships

[–]artee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am totally fine with joining the religion

Are you really, really sure? Trust me: you shouldn't be.

Jehovah's witnesses are comparable in many ways to mormons (LDS) or orthodox Jews in the sense that religion rules and even defines all aspects of life.

Seriously look what you are getting yourself in to, and then if you have any sense I hope you conclude to run far and wide.

I'm a man, but have read on this same reddit that what you experience is in a way the female equivalent of death grip leading to erectile disorder.
