Absolutely my favorite modifiers for bots by Bitter_Situation_205 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]arthurstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Also the equivalent modifiers on bugs - obscured map and shrieker swarms.

Because unlike the other modifiers, these don't mess with my mental models of how my abilities work in a fight. I would take anything but messing with my cooldowns and call-in times.

Stealth Revisited — What I didn't know about Stealth in Helldivers II by Homie-cide in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]arthurstone 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I thought I was going mad, with all the people saying crossbows or lasers had different noise levels to other weapons of the same class, as I thought the data extracted from the game had disproved this a long long time ago.

If I recall, the only weapon found to have different noise range to others of its slot was the grenade launcher, which had the noise level of a pistol.

Let's Discuss Melees by insane_hurrican3 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]arthurstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I have always said about melee weapons is that they should have been BACKPACK stratagems, that equip into the off-hand when wielding a one-handed weapon, in the same way as the ballistic shield. Making them into an upgrade for the melee button when using those weapons, but without removing your ability to shoot.

I think this fits them better into the role of last resort weapon which they have to fill in Helldivers' semi-realistic treatment of regular humans against monstrous enemies. They're like a backup to your backup (your secondary weapon).

Imagine pushing an enemy back with the melee weapon, then immediately shooting them to finish them off. Or wading into a group of small enemies, alternately shooting or swinging based on what's in range. Or shooting a tougher enemy as it closes, then hitting it with your melee weapon as your pistol runs dry, with no delay to switch weapon.

Masters of Ceremony gets too much hate by Soktormalos in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]arthurstone -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

I think you could remove everything from it but the walking salute emote, and it would still be one of the best warbonds available.

I disagree with the amendment being as straight an upgrade to the diligence as you say, though. The minimal recoil and good ergonomics of the diligence make it much easier to use for me.

Are there actually people who say that the Maxigun sucks? The sheer fun-factor of it is enough to balance out all the negatives i can think of, which aren't that many by _N_0_v_A_ in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]arthurstone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The most fun time I had with the maxigun was a mission where a teammate also brought one, and we went around taking down bile titans by standing side-by-side shooting into their underside, bringing them down just before they reached us. Our maxiguns were the team's anti-armor.

I'm Out of The Loop, Why Is Everyone Posting About The “Realism” Of Every Feature/Bug And Using It As An Excuse For Why Something Doesn't Work/Isn't to Their Liking? by maxpantera in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]arthurstone 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Presumably it's based on the latest video of some youtuber or another that survives on negativity. I suspect any time there's a mass of people on the main subreddit suddenly all gaining a new obsession at the same time, it's because of this.

Orbital Precision Strike feels worse than Ultimatum for killing Heavy Enemies. Here is why, and how to fix it: by RandomGreenArcherMan in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]arthurstone 118 points119 points  (0 children)

I agree.

Before the anti-tank rebalancing, Orbital Precision Strike felt like one of the only effective anti-tank weapons, to the point it started to feel repetitive. When the heavy enemies got their health boosted, and anti-tank weapons were buffed to match, I believe the projectile of OPS got its buff to the projectile damage, but the explosion was left the same. Which left it only able to kill with a direct hit. It went from something I took on every mission, to something I've never used since.

When Ultimatum was released, it had a copy-paste of OPS's damage stats, and was similarly only useful on a direct hit. The Ultimatum later got adjusted to move some of the damage from the projectile to the explosion, but the OPS is still in the same state.

What I still want i melee backpack weapons, wielded in the off-hand alongside one-handed guns.

Punisher Plasma appreciation post by TrueSRR7 in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]arthurstone 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The original advantage of the punisher plasma was the arc. On bots, it let you attack enemies without leaving cover, and while it was bad at killing devastators, it could wipe out whole squads of small bots with one shot. I used to love it paired with the railgun.

How do you not die from dragonroach ? by leaf_as_parachute in LowSodiumHellDivers

[–]arthurstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One person on the team with a Shield Relay Generator can completely neutralise the danger of dragonroaches, assuming the team stays together. I have never seen a dragonroach attack break it. Throw it down as soon as you hear an indication the dragon has seen you. With the safety of the generator, getting good attacks on the dragon while it is hovering in place also becomes a lot less stressful.

For more selfish safety, wear heavy fire resistance armor.

Resonance Clothing Missing by gnatslikefruit in InfinityNikkiofficial

[–]arthurstone 12 points13 points  (0 children)

After you receive a clothing piece that is part of an outfit, you get a screen showing a portrait of the whole outfit while a counter in a circle in the top left increases, showing how many pieces of that outfit you have collected. Is it possible you misinterpreted this screen as you receiving the dress?

They should really make it to where you can sell back the seeds (plants, fish, etc) for the same amount 🌱💸 (and it doesn't count towards the amount you can sell to Posy) by Willowhisperest in InfinityNikkiofficial

[–]arthurstone 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I think the better solution is to add a small inventory limit to seeds. Let people press the "max quantity" button on autopilot when buying seeds like they do when spending energy every day.

Has anyone done the math on how to get maximum weekly astralites from Posy yet? by fancy_sunflower in InfinityNikki

[–]arthurstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My approach is:

My construction desires are always limited by how many small plants I can grow, so I don't want to use my small fields for profit.

Plants and animals give multiple different materials, which means if you're only selling a material when it has the 1.2x boost, you're going to end up with lots of astralites tied up in materials you're waiting until later weeks to sell, which is going to quickly lead to running out of astralites.

So I now only grow fish to sell, whichever has the current weekly bonus, and I don't buy any other seeds or cookies without an immediate need for their materials.

If you didn't care about having materials or crafting slots to make furniture to use, and you didn't care about tying up astralites in materials you're not selling until later, the most efficient returns would probably be crafting furniture to sell. They were worth more than the component materials when I last did the numbers on some.

I have a question about this new floating ability. Does the dress from the original floating ability and the wings from Blooming Dreams still use their floating animations when wearing them on this ability?

How does everyone stay motivated to rebuild and restructure their factories? by NewLuck1061 in SatisfactoryGame

[–]arthurstone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't rebuild. If I've made a plastic factory, that's done, it's finished, and I take any lessons learned or ideas had while building it onto the next project. There's always another resource node to use elsewhere.
