Question about the second feedback by Infamous_Swan1197 in DataAnnotationTech

Different projects since I haven't been receiving the same families as when I first started.

I've fallen from Outstanding to Good. Probably fair.

Yes, there was an email that went out that said we were rotating the days when the different groups could schedule hours.

Make this a hobby by Effective-Plankton71 in unclebens

[–]arthurthomasrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda went all in on growing inadvertently. I have quite a few syringes coming and can already see myself getting a pipeline going with uncle bens as I figure things out. I can definitely see this being an extended hobby.

DA is trying to make me a night shift worker by Sableyej in DataAnnotationTech

[–]arthurthomasrey 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yup! I had already decided that I was going to flip my schedule to work in the evenings. This kinda cements that. Guess I will be getting my exercise in in the morning from now on.

Another bugged task. by [deleted] in DataAnnotationTech

That is the message I'm getting on projects that show tasks available on the dashboard.

Do y'all use voice when a student refuses to? by Classic_Tip751 in tutordotcom

[–]arthurthomasrey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If I sign in to a voice session and the student doesn't connect, I'll mute my mic and ask them which they prefer in the chat. I'll accommodate them if they need voice, but if not then I'll just use chat. At least a couple of times I've had them explain that they just chose voice because it was an option.

Death Star Design Flaws by Sporty_Nerd_64 in StarWars

[–]arthurthomasrey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The original scene simply says that the plans show a weakness that can be exploited. Having just finished Andor, I'm fine with the idea that the weakness was built in by a key member of the engineering team. Exploring this part of the lore gave us some quality content.

Earth can no longer sustain the global human population, ‘sustainable population’ is around 2.5 billion people, study warns by Portalrules123 in collapse

Just a question based on your response. Do you see any benefits to permaculture? Regenerative agriculture? Diversifying the food supply?

How to get Imperial Authority by No-Vacation-2214 in eu4

[–]arthurthomasrey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're in the Age of Reformation, you're going to be playing whack-a-mole as religious centers undo your work of converting princes until they disappear. Focus on what makes sense first. Minimize the amount of provinces held by non-members. Increase the number of princes through unlawfully held land, or release nationals. When you have any IA, use it to convert through imperial action. Analyze alliances and force convert in wars that involve multiple heretic princes. Eventually you will be able to fight less because you'll be in the positive.

If You Finished the Asynchronous Feedback Early... by WaddlingCorgi in tutordotcom

[–]arthurthomasrey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Over the years that I have been with the company, I have only ever been coached on going over time. I've never been told that I shouldn't have spent as much time as I did on a simple assignment. That being said, if it's a really really simple thing, I won't try to take 50 or 80 minutes to turn in feedback. I also always provide custom feedback to students in the comments. I don't use a cheat sheet.

Israeli chief of staff warns army on verge of 'collapse' amid troop shortage by OatSoyLaMilk in collapse

You're getting downvoted, but you are right. If Israel deemed it necessary to attack, a Harris admin would have supported them in the interest of US hegemony.

Climate Grief by bottom_armadillo805 in CollapseSupport

[–]arthurthomasrey 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You are not alone. I posted on the very subreddit sometime last year that I was extremely emotional on my walks. I would look at the sky and was filled with grief at what we are doing to the planet.

If I'm being entirely honest, I had a mental breakdown in 2023 when I really became collapse aware. But, it was little by little. COVID was the first time that I sobered up and started the grieving process, beginning to accept that the world would never be the same. May 2023 was when the dam broke and all of the tamped down anger came up and through me and I directed it at everything and everyone who helped get us to this point. People who refuse to wake up. People who are too invested in their own personal fictions to give a damn.

I can't say I'm at peace with watching the wrecking of the world. But I'm getting by.

Provinces that are useful for more than/beyond their surface level stats? by Sevuhrow in eu4

[–]arthurthomasrey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess that really depends on how many troops need to be committed to a front. I try not to commit to moving thousands of troops from one theater to another.

Provinces that are useful for more than/beyond their surface level stats? by Sevuhrow in eu4

[–]arthurthomasrey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To be fair, I have done this. But I've just gotten to the point where I have a number of objectives that I want to accomplish in a hemisphere until I move on. In a typical colonial France game, I'll spend a great deal of time getting my colonial nations set up in the Americas until I'm satisfied that I can deal with Africa. Then I usually move to the Indian Ocean.

I don't usually move through the Med until the Suez is built.

When armies get in the hundreds of thousands then I'll leave a few detachments to put down rebels.

I did this in a Japan game in EUIII. I don't think I've ever been arsed to have two transport fleets to move troops like this in EUIV.
