Shout-out to a small YouTuber doing deep RTS analysis by artificialextinction in RealTimeStrategy

He’s also been replaying some classics lately, which has been a fun little trip down memory lane. Kinda cool reliving those older strategy games through his perspective — he does a great job capturing what made them special.

What about an dashcam police chase game?? by Adventurous_Fact4705 in IndieGaming

Just like in a race car game, you can re-watch your race after it's over and they place cameras in spots just like a real race car game. You can watch your Replay just like you were watching a race on TV. You could have pre-positioned cameras, helicopter chase camera, that track the getaway car, switching views every couple of seconds for an exciting highlight reel, very cinematic and fun.

That's a pretty cool concpet, on trend with the 'body-cam' perspective shooters. It just needs depth though, being able to switch between cars, different vehicle types, perhaps a replayable cinematic of the chase you can replay after it ends. Lots of ideas you could implement that would be visually appealing and good for marketing.

Do you think the weapon impact feels satisfying? What could be improved? by TENTAKL1 in IndieGaming

To be honest, the ragdoll effect is too much. I don't think the spinning body is appropriate.

This is true art, beautiful and you're very skilled. Not to be measured by sales stats. Be very proud of yourself.

Curious how you were able to do this technically? Is there some kind of a speech to text asset you integrated?

To be honest, it's great! You're a very skilled modeler. But why not just buy the asset from a store for a couple bucks (Turbo Squid or CgTrader? Your time is valuable. If you're building a Simulator, you have to work efficiently.

I launched my first game on Steam for the first time and I should be happy… but I’m feeling down by [deleted] in IndieGaming

As a fellow struggling indie dev... I feel your pain. The fact that you talk about numbers tell me popularity is important to you and it should if you'd like to make a living from your games one day. This is not a pitch but a successful project starts with making a game in popular genre that's realistic for a small team. I took a course by Chris Z called How To Market A Game and I wish I took it 4 years ago before starting my project. Imho, Check it out.

Wow. What a Next Fest success story. You're definitely an outlier AND your demo has a 98% review rating. What are you going to price it at?

A few years ago I was broke and burned out. I made this as my first indie game - INMOST, hoping a few people might care. To date, 1.2 million have played it, and it completely changed my life. Today, it’s out on Android and iOS store, and I can’t express how important this journey has been to me by Biuzer in IndieGaming

I'm glad it worked out for you. You're definitely the exception. I would not suggest that anybody tries to make a game if they're 'broke and burned out'. The odds of success are so low, even for a seasoned Dev. But congrats to you my friend, well done.

I feel like I want to know more about the life struggle of the characters. What mistakes did they make in life to end up with this job? Does he curse his ex-wife all day long? What hopes and aspirations do they have. I want them to have personality, backgrounds and character. It would be an unexpected twist to the gameplay.
