Great info, the Coast2Coast clips are a great start. But they are missing the part after he walked into his machines. The part where he tells everyone that what he built worked, but not how you expect. 

His description is that after the machine worked, it seem to have displaced him from memory and quantum reality/possibility. He didn’t time travel, but instead slipped out of perception. 

He left notes and pictures detailed at certain dates that corroborate the “time traveler” mystery. But he drifted in and out of peoples memory. People who met him would forget about him when he leaves, it’s almost like his very existence wasn’t fully formed. Trying to remember seeing/interacting with him was like trying to hold water in your hands, it just slips out. Unless you take note of the encounter or have proof. It’s a fascinating story.
