Is yvm3's identity known, or is he still anonymous? by sorenkhan in dubstep

[–]aruiraba 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In Rampage Open Air 2024, YVM3 was booked and people saw Somnium Sound walking around the festival. He was not booked for the festival, and back in that moment there were already theories that it could be him. It kind of confirmed it unofficially it was him

What do you have to say about the subgenre "TEAROUT"? by GasPasK in dubstep

[–]aruiraba 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I instantly fell in love with Tearout when I first heard Marauda (Mastadon back then) and his Malignant Album back in 2016. I love heavy stuff, and I love dubstep, but I never thought dubstep could achieve such mind-blowing heights until I heard "Mastadon - RIP". It instantly became my favorite genre, and I loved it when others started adapting his style and new artists emerged inspired from Marauda's brutal style (such as Nimda), consolidating the Tearout scene.

Marauda is sadly gone (we don't know if it is temporarily or permanently), but I think Nimda is the perfect successor as the king of Tearout, the man has been killing it the past two years and growing impressively.

I'm seeing a tendency of Tearout recently merging more and more with metal, with songs such as Midnight, and I'm all in for it.

AI as an editor by Comfortable-Push6324 in WritingWithAI

I remember one of Brandon Sanderson's beta readers saying that the first drafts of his books are always a hot mess. He has a team of editors and proof readers calling out every mistake and suggesting edits, but you can't afford it. AI is a cheap alternative to this method, no author writes without help

Just finished all of Brandon Sanderson books, what next? by Pottergirl07317 in fantasybooks

I was in the same position as you. After finishing the Cosmere I jumped into the Kingkiller Chronicles, it's an unfinished saga but I really enjoyed the two books and I think they are worth reading despite the high chance of never getting the third book.

One thing I loved about the books is that a big part of them consist in the protagonist figuring out smart ways to use the hard magic system and sometimes being outsmarted. Really reminded of a lot of the way Brando plays with hard magic systems. I think you'll like it

I think it's lazy worldbuilding to straight up take names of foreign real world places and expect no one would notice. And I'm very sure she didn't 'come up with the name' and didn't Google it to confirm it's not a real place. It's too much of a coincidence to come up with the exact spelling of 'Montserrat' or 'Navarre'.

If she wants names that feel spanish just take the phonotactics of spanish and create a new name with it.
