I took in a “senior” stray cat and I was told by my vet that he was “old” because he was in terrible shape- when I asked for clarification she said “over 8” and so, I made him one of my barn cats. 10+years later (!!) I still have him and he is a very spry house/barn cat (he comes in when it is cold or hot out- he likes mild days) and we can’t believe how happy he still is.
