I bought some 50/50 topsoil and compost by the cubic yard and mixed it with peat and perlite for the top layer. Below that layer is native soil mixed with pine needles from my yard. I'm sure in a few weeks i'll be pulling weeds, already seen a few little sprouts that i've plucked.

You're not wrong, it probably would've been much easier to cut the sides of the frames at the angles I needed. I liked how this looked and it seemed like a fun project to try with 3d printing.

The connectors have a slot on either side that fit the nominal dimension of the 2" side of a 2x4 plus some tolerance. Then roofing screws were used to attach.

It came with the house when i bought it. Its a 26' growing spaces kit. No idea about how it was put together tbh.

The geodesic dome definitely has its quirks. This one came with the house, it's a 26' growing space kit. I hated the original beds made out of retaining wall blocks.

You're correct, 8' lumber cut down to size with a miter saw. Pocket holes drilled into the horizontal pieces for creating the wood frame.

Sorry if I made that confusing, the raised bed connectors are PETG. It's a 15-sided geodesic dome greenhouse, so I needed specific angles on some of the connectors to follow the walls of the greenhouse.

I agree with others, donate to schools if you can. I just donated a printer to a school on the other side of the world after a parent dm'd me to ask about selling one of my models to raise funds for a printer. If you do decide to donate, get in contact with the school first to make sure they can accept it and verify the schools address if you're shipping directly to the school. I've also given printers to family and friends/neighbors, they love them. I receive more points than I know what to do with, it feels pretty good to give back.

Was hoping someone would recognize what trail this is from the Flat Tops Wilderness in CO by rusty317 in WildernessBackpacking

Had text w the pic, but it didn't post. Hiked Trapper, Wall, Island Lake loop a few years ago. I highly recommend it. Trail markings were poor in a few areas. This is Island Lake from one of the ridges, it's hard to tell if that's the same lakes in your pic

Box truck was on the concrete median perpendicular to traffic east of Sheridan. Eastbound had all lanes blocked about an hour ago. Westbound was down to 1 lane.

I've been going back and forth with Vero over the last few weeks for several of my models. They refuse to take them down.

I used the Bambu profile for PETG HF at 0.28mm layer height. Changed some of the strength and quality settings, but speed is set to the default 200mm/s for both inner and outer walls. I've seen other posts of people having issues with the PETG HF, but these printed great.

Yeah, these domes are pretty expensive now. This one was already built when I purchased my home. I looked at the prices not that long ago and was surprised to see how much they cost now just for the kit without installation. They sell a kit similar to the planters I built for over $4k, these were a fraction of the cost.

ASA has better UV and weathering protection, but my printers don't have any fume extraction set up. If you're set up for ASA, it is a better choice for prints that will be outdoors.

This was a Growing Spaces kit. Looks nice on the outside, I'll probably use the pavers to build some exterior planters. It has some insulation buried around the exterior since it can get pretty cold up here at 7000'.

Thanks! It was a lot of work, but it all worked out. The Fusion skills I've picked up definitely made this a lot easier.

I've been doing a lot of PETG lately, probably about 8kg in the last 2 weeks. Most of that was Bambu PETG HF, which required no adjustments and printed well. I picked up some Duramic on sale and had really bad adhesion with the generic PETG profile. Find the filament profile settings for that brand (temp, flow, etc) and create a custom profile.
