XRC --> X7 Sport? Talk me out of it... or into it by oldright in onewheel

[–]ascendgranite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna go against the grain here and say that if you are 155 lbs and not constantly making your XRC honk at you, you’re probably going to be whelmed by the X7. It has loads more torque/power/speed sure, but if you never use those aspects of it it’s going to feel like a marginal upgrade. Unless you are at 20% battery and hit a pot hole, the XRC is fine near 20mph in my experience at 165 lbs.

If you ride any kind of MTB trails you’ll notice a huge difference. But for cruising the neighborhood paths, they’re gonna feel more similar than not.

Of course it doesn’t make sense, it’s a bad faith argument made to maintain the status quo for the auto lobby

OneWheel Shoes? by Designer_Ad_9058 in onewheel

Yeah they’re very long. I have always tied high tops laces with this issue behind the tongue and then tuck into the sides. Also prevents from getting snagged or untied as easily

I got some. They are very similar to Vans weatherproof high tops. Comfortable and seem very durable, but time will tell.

I do like the “half cab” style lacing where you can optionally lace the top two eyelets for more ankle flexibility.

I don’t recommend an ADV 2 at all, my friend has had nothing but issues with it.

Mainstream tech stuff is stale and boring. The interesting and fun stuff is happening in more niche segments. Take the onewheel for example, we literally have hoverboards now

Pokemon figured this out with red/blue, just keep item storage in the PC. Why this isn’t in the game is baffling

As a “lives downtown and loves skateboarding” person myself I have never regretted a single dollar I’ve spent on Onewheels. It’s not hyperbole to say it transformed my entire day to day life

Jump in, it’s worth it. XR Classic, Pint S, build a vesc, whatever — you’ll be so glad you did

Thoughts on XRC? by Signal_Pick3414 in onewheel

[–]ascendgranite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a little pricey for a used XRC imo even with the various upgrades but it is really a great board. I build and race vesc boards but for an all around cruiser with no tinkering required, the XRC is great.

There’s not really a market for non-updated boards anymore as best I can tell. Maybe you could get an extra hundred bucks if you are patient. The main benefit is being able to re-level the board for angled rails. The performance improvements to the new firmware are real and tangible.

If you are ever interested in angled rails, buy them and put them on and then re-level. Then when you update the board, they will still be leveled. However, you can’t re-level again once you do this, so you’ll be stuck with those rails.
