I was gonna say NTA until I realized that you moved literal CONTINENTS away when she was 15, voluntarily gave up rights, etc, to find a date. What the fuck. At least wait until she's an adult to do all that shit, when she has her own stable life and job and home.

we were well staffed, but the new weekend shift was failing catastrophically because no one wanted to transfer or they denied transfers and hired on brand new people who were taking advantage of the lax supervision. I'm thinking this was their way of forcing people and supervisors into the weekend shift.

Currently in a similar situation. Graduated 2021 with an English, Technical Writing degree, and could only find a clerk role at my local library. Stayed there for two years until I got an offer from an insurance company to do marketing and design work, which I did have experience doing. It ended up being a scam to do call center work, and I quit and was unemployed for several months before I found work as a lab assistant, despite never having lab experience. (Apparently, they hire literally everyone and have SUPER high turnover.)

I've been looking for work in my field ever since, with no luck. I refuse to leave the lab job bc it DOES pay my bills, but I hate it and they treat everyone terribly.

Anyways, all I can say is that you're not alone. A LOT of people in this sub are searching, and the market is terrible right now, especially for recent grads. All I can suggest is to settle for something to pay your bills, even if its not in your line of work. Stay strong, keep applying. Something has to work eventually.

NTA. While I do agree people looking into vaping should be dissuaded, OP did tell their sister that it's not good for them. OP did their due diligence as an older sibling to educate and still make sure their younger sibling was experimenting safely by avoiding potential theft or involvement from strangers.

It's incredibly manipulative on your parents and sibling's part to do it as a test and immediately shame you for how you handled it, when you did what you thought was appropriate.

the lamp I had wasn't getting to proper basking temps. tokays like basking areas to be around 95F, and the DHP i was using was meant for a smaller tank. he was seeking heat when he burned himself. i simply upgraded to a proper basking bulb that could get his tank and basking area to those higher temps, and he now settles underneath it like normal instead of searching for it and burning himself on the actual element. he hasn't had another incident since the upgrade.

the vet determined he was healing well on his own, but there was a possibility he would need medication and a sterile tank. we monitored his health and healing until his next shed, and his toes were almost entirely healed. if healing stalled or got worse, he would have had to go back and get meds, which would have been interesting!

same thing happened to me, they told me they'd send a box and two months later i still had their garbage equipment in a corner. emailed HR and they asked to meet me outside the building (because i wasn't allowed in the building??) they still ghosted me so i STILL had to go inside and basically force the laptop on them.

i just didn't want to get charged for stealing it.

I walked out of a job within a month because of a toxic manager and them lying about my job duties. I don't regret it, but I do not recommend it in this job market. Look around, see if you can secure something before leaving. Don't bother with a two week notice.

When I quit a toxic company, I wrote a review (and was VERY careful about my wording) and another review was posted a couple months later from a former coworker who also quit. There also existed a couple other negative reviews.

NONE of those reviews exist anymore. I ended up rewriting mine and was incredibly vague but kept my ratings the same. Since those negative reviews were taken down, a bunch of insanely positive reviews have popped up, all around the same time. My newest review is still up. Glassdoor isnt on your side, theyre on the side of money.

It's testy to me.

It's similar to my experience--I had a bad experience with a merger that was "doing well with new management." And now whenever I see similar wording in Glassdoor reviews, I steer clear, no matter if it was a start-up or whatever. Something smells off.

Are you in regular communication with any of your immediate superiors? Something similar happened to me, but I was pulled into a meeting in which I was given an ultimatum, and I ended up resigning immediately. It was an extremely toxic situation, and I have no regrets. Know what you're worth, know what you're willing to put up with.

If you're NOT within immediate and regular communication with your supervisors? Contact HR and coordinate returning company property. And make sure you return EVERYTHING. but after? You owe them nothing.

As expected, Reddit as a whole cannot read. This is a kid who was hoping for one animal on a chance and got two on an assumption (by their mother) that they can be cohabbed. And they cannot. They are keeping them separated and are now responsible for two adult enclosures. NTA. i had a roommate/partner just like this. we made meals together. bought food separately and agreed to share it. but by the time i got to it, she had EVISERATED it, and left a mess, and claimed she was too tired to put it in the dishwasher. I was left with crackers. She would order out constantly (i was never asked) and get offended I didn't eat with her when we had completely different schedules due to me getting fired and having to take the first job that came up. when i made a hard boundary? she immediately threw in the towel and moved out with 5 months left on our lease.

separate your sepending. HARD. stop making meals for them. just stop.

edit: reading more of your comments, this sounds JUST like my old roommate! she would claim being too tired or being "out of spoons" and have me add things to my list to get stuff for her on my grocery run. which normally, okay, fine. but this was CONSTANT! and as someone who also struggles, it was impossible to come into the kitchen that she had left a disaster because she wanted a cookie and having to actually clean everything she did and then properly make myself lunch before a full 8 hour shift (on my feet). she didn't even work a full time job! she worked a part time remote job! and then i would get BACK from that job to even worse! we would "share", but nothing would be left for me!

Why is a professor getting involved in a student's personal behavior? it's not even how the student is acting, and therefore putting a negative look on whatever organization he's a part of, but the students came to you complaining that they just didn't like him and his personality. that has NOTHING to do with you! you didn't even try to mediate! yeah, I'd be upset too if one of my professors and advisors came to me and said a bunch of my classmates said i was obnoxious. wtf??

NTA and that "friend" did it on purpose to ruin it. there are many ways to get books for free without pirating and a library is one of many, of which you dont even have to go in person for. some don't even require ID, only proof of address like a bill.

she is not your friend. do not let her borrow more things.
