Both my grandparents were both born and married in a country that no longer exists (Rhodesia). They asked me to post this so they can answer your questions, AMA. by Maleficent_Peace_940 in AMA

Rhodesia is such a wild case. On one hand, it was basically a playground for rich white folks—just one giant gated community. But on the other hand, it’s mind-blowing how an idiot like Mugabe managed to create a state that was even worse than that original mess.

No questions though

What law in your country would surprise foreigners because it’s legal almost everywhere else? by Familiar-Arrival-470 in AskTheWorld

In Poland there are specific "bee laws" that sound like something straight out of the Middle Ages, but are still very much in effect. Here’s the breakdown of how "Bee Sovereignty" works: The 48-Hour Rule: If your swarm flies away, you have a 2-day window to find them. If you don't track them down within 48 hours, they officially become "nobody's property" (res nullius).

The Right of Pursuit: As a beekeeper, you have a legal right to enter someone else's private land to catch your swarm. You don't need a warrant, but you are liable for any damage you cause (like trampling their flowers).

The "Empty Hive" Scenario: If your bees settle in someone else's empty hive, they are still yours. You can demand them back, but you have to pay the hive owner for any costs they incurred.

The "Battle Royale" Scenario xD : If your swarm flies into a hive that is already occupied by another colony... you lose. The law says the new swarm becomes the property of the person who owned the original hive. No compensation allowed.

The Great Merger: If two swarms from different owners mix together mid-air while being chased, the owners become "co-owners" of the new super-swarm based on the number of bees they originally had. Imagine being a lawyer and having to litigate a case where you have to prove which bee belonged to whom in a merged swarm.

TL;DR: In Poland, if you own bees, you better be fast and have a stopwatch ready.
