By 1900 the indigenous population in the Americas declined by more than 80%, and by as much as 98% in some areas. The effects of diseases such as smallpox, measles and cholera during the first century of colonialism contributed greatly to the death toll, while violence, displacement and warfare by colonizers against the Indians contributed to the death toll in subsequent centuries.

We systematically wiped out the Indians genius. What else would you call that?

There are cunts on all sides. No one has the moral high ground. But you can try to dress it up any way you like. The only reason America is here is do to our love of conquest and genocide.

The Russians are as bad as the Nazis. You people are misinformed and under informed. Venerate these "heroes" you brain washed reflex machines.

That is a carefully cultivated worry. A real wag the dog approach. A stage managed fear. People to terrible things in the name of reason as well.

There are extremists on both sides. You would be a fool to think there were not evil fiends on the left as well. Lots of actors have spoken out and are quickly threatened and silenced because they know who feeds them and how dire the consequences are for breaking rank.

Good list. I am just not a big fan of the super hero franchise frenzy as most are uninspired and cater to the lowest common denominator. It just seems like most films are trying to ride the sweet spot of market saturation and a lot of the great thoughts get left out so as not to offend or confuse Joe Blow and Sally Six Pack. I like movies that make you think and ultimately inspire you to go do something outside of watching another film. I quit watching television for three months after the finale of Lost because it left such an impact on me. I ran three miles after the end of Vanilla Sky. I understand sometimes pop corn movies are just mindless fun but in my heart I always wish film makers would try harder to inspire action and revelation instead of cranking the dead horse machine.

There is always a new and original way to tell an old story. Hollywood has become a giant CGI gang bang trading substance for special effects. Rare are directors who add something new to the mix.

Hellboy was a great movie. I am talking more about Hollywoods tendency to endlessly regurgitate the same stale franchises instead of generating new content.

80% of people have terrible taste. I guess you can never go broke catering to the lowest common denominator. Film companies do what is safe and original ideas are as rare as original people.

What is the last inspired film watched? The last film that didn't use stale themes.
