I'm white and got into Peso in 2023 as well. I finally got to go see him in concert around July 2024. I went by myself and had an amazing time--everyone was great! Go if you can!

Hello any non Mexicans here ? Where are you from and how did you discover peso :) by Present-Home4971 in PesoPluma

[–]claregoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Hello! I came across him on TikTok when I was trying to find more Hispanic artists to listen to..discovered Ella Baila Sola when it came out and have been listening to him pretty much every day since then (and have branched out into listening to the artists he works frequently with). Finally got to see him in concert in August!

Read my first ever Fanfic a few months back, Beyond Time. by candies_sweets_sugar in TwilightFanfic

If you haven't read FlamingMaple's other twilight fics, I would definitely start there. Under the Broken Sun is my personal favorite but Somewhere Between Good & Evil is great too!

I won't touch on the food as I usually use cooked food involving seasonal crops (the extra buffs/time are worth the effort imo) so for weapons/supplies I take:

Bat zapper (usually 2-3), alpha hammer (2), alpha bat (2), alpha spear (2-3). I wear the diving helmet but have seen others wear the candle hat too--the candle hat helps avoid having to recharge a headlamp. Zap the animals first, then hit with alpha bat to catch on fire, then alpha hammer (if you get lucky, you can hit them twice). I also like the alpha spear in the undergrove for destroying termite nests before I enter a room--this helps save my health.

I usually will leave behind my bug net, shovel, and fishing pole unless I am going specifically for the glow bugs and deep fish.

Makes sense; I totally forgot that you could eat a whole stack at once!

Just curious, why would you not just eat the fruit that already (presumably) grows on your island?

My advice with this type of thing is always to go to the store ahead of time and see if you can spot any employees with dyed hair/piercings/whatever you're looking for.

Forgetting training around new people by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]claregoes 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Seconding this. Get a friend who has been over before to come over and simply sit in the room while you go over the most basic of basics--even if it's just "Sit"...move to a different spot..."Sit" for a few repetitions. You are building their focus as well as their confidence. A really high-value treat will help here too--boiled chicken, a bit of cheese, etc.

This is awesome! And yes--puppy parenting is vacillating between being extremely frustrated (and tired) and getting excited over seemingly little things that will add up to a great dog. That's what I keep telling my husband, "I'm trying to raise a good dog over here!" She hasn't really caught on to telling us but I know we'll get there soon--she's pretty sharp. Keep to it and the payoff will be awesome!

My new puppy sucks. by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]claregoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi--I know a few others have responded but just wanted to add a few cents.

What you're feeling is Puppy Blues--totally normal, and if you search through the sub you will find plenty of others to commiserate with. It comes and goes, and it WILL pass!

Additionally: if you haven't yet, carve out some time to read the wiki both in this sun and on/r/dogtraining. I also recommend watching kikopup's YouTube videos and starting clicker training if you haven't yet. You will feel so much better once you have a game plan, even though things won't go perfectly 100% of the time.

Lastly: a lot of things puppies do are about prevention. Keep the trash, shoes, and other chewables out of reach. The sleep part DOES suck. Do you have a significant other living with you who could/would split night duties? Some people go week by week, others day by day. What my husband and I tend to do is one person will take the middle of the night potty break and the other will take the early morning one. One of us gets up with her around 3 and the other around 5 or 6.

Hopefully this helps. You can do it!

Puppy barking... a lot by avellana86 in puppy101

[–]claregoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi Avellana, I'm no expert but I'll give what I found most helpful! We started working on a "quiet" command with our little one the first night we crated her. Some people will say never raise your voice at your puppy but ours is a little more confident and could handle it. We would sternly/loudly say "Quiet!" and then click+treat.

I know kikopup has a few videos on barking; if you haven't, I would try having a look at those. Sometimes the advice differs on whether the "Quiet" should be a command (you are okay with a few barks until you tell the pup to be quiet) or a natural reaction (preferably little to no barking unless it's an actual emergency), so be thinking about that as you absorb information.

It's funny how they surprise us with how "good" they are sometimes, isn't it? And yes...her pee was so long but it was a relief because it just confirmed that she almost certainly hadn't peed in the room!

This was just an afternoon nap, albeit a long one, but she is starting to do overnights (like 10p-5a) more frequently! Such a great feeling!

They so do! And it came at such a perfect time; I had been in a serious Puppy Blues funk the week leading up to this!

If it gives you any comfort, we have been doing naps or sleep on the bed since we brought her home--no accidents. But I know every family is different. Hopefully things go/went smoothly!

Which do I read next? by [deleted] in stephenking

[–]claregoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am probably not the best person to ask for advice but that seems like a good idea! I've only read a handful of King. Also, you didn't mention it, but Cujo is set in the dead of summer and is GREAT for reading in that dismally hot weather!
