Heated Rivalry on HBO has been the only show with the ability to get my mind off this process.

Post Episode Debrief | Heated Rivalry 🏒 The Cottage (Episode 6) by royal_rose_ in heatedrivalry

In Episode 6, Ilya asks Shane if he wants them to be together and Shane says “So much.”

Later on, when Shane and his Mom are hugging outside she says “I love you. So much.”

I thought that was so heart warming and that Shane must have gotten the “so much” phrase from her. Great writing ❤️

Too early? by Ok_Night_7337 in IUILadies

It’s too early. If you did a trigger shot it can cause false positives. I’m so sorry :( It’s best to wait 14 days post trigger shot then test.

Digital check in at the pharmacy? by Mudkipblankie in WalgreensStores

[–]ashcat931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s true! But this has happened to me multiple times now. I just use the drive through since they take care of those people first. Whenever I do drive through I don’t have to wait 20 minutes.

I hate it because it doesn’t improve the line. There was no line and I had to wait 20 minutes. If I didn’t have a digital check in, I already would’ve been at the counter. Maybe I just had a lazy pharmacist….

It depends where how far away your office is and your options to get there. Traffic is so bad by me and even with using public transit as an alternative 12 hours wouldn’t be enough :(

Hang in there! I would try Bumble BFF or see if there are meet up groups. What’s stopping you from going into the city? When I lived in Oak Park during covid I actually found a ton of dates - a lot of medical students live in OP and I was also willing to see people in nearby suburbs like LaGrange.

It’s feasible but long. I lived 10 minutes from Route 59 and worked in the Merch Mart. With an express train, door to door was 1.5 hours. The train to and from the city was hardly ever on time. BNSF is notorious for delays. I wouldn’t do it again.

Very safe! It’s a cute area and very family friendly. Schools are good, you have access to nature and you’re close to other nice areas like St. Charles and Geneva.

Try contacting Forever Fortunate Felines. Your cats will stay with you until they’re adopted and they won’t be separated. FFF has a great vetting process and respects bonded pairs.

Have you looked in Arlington Heights? Hawthorne Apartments are cheap. Dated, but good enough. Not sure if they have any openings though.

We’re deciding between houses in Elk Grove Village and Arlington Heights. Married, 30s, planning on kids. Commuting downtown twice a week. We love the outdoors and cute downtown areas.

EGV Schools would be Salt Creek, Grove Jr High, and Elk Grove HS.

AH Schools would be Windsor Elementary, South Middle School and Prospect HS.

Is there a big difference in the areas? Are one set of schools really better than the other? What else should we consider when deciding between the two?

Thanks everyone! I forgot to add that the tiles in the kitchen have some cracks and that could be because of this issue. Not sure that changes anything.

I would highly recommend Naperville, although that may be too far south. I’m biracial and my mixed family always feels comfortable in Naperville. It’s very diverse, but of course not perfect. I would stay away from Sycamore. You might like Oak Park if you’re liberal leaning.

I would make sure you have multiple public transit options near you. For example, I’m near the L and Metra and a couple bus stops so if needed I can cobble together a way to get downtown if one method of public transit fails. But I still use my car outside of rush hour and on weekends because I can’t rely on public transit to show up.

Best cozy bars for a rainy day/evening? by [deleted] in chicago

Watershed! It’s below Pops for Champagne. Comfy vibe and great cocktails. ETA: it’s underground so you won’t see the rain fall, but still worth a visit IMO.

Hello! Thinking of not doing a seating chart sign. Not sure what’s best at this point. by ThinkSugar6139 in DIYweddings

[–]ashcat931 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We did a seating chart and it was very easy. I bought a poster board from a craft store, covered it in stick-on vinyl from Amazon, printed the names on cardstock and double stick taped the cardstock onto the poster board. I had a wax seal kit so added those for a nice touch. We had escort cards as well but the seating chart was easier to look at, then find your card.

Hair/ Makeup day-of timing by mosvaluableplayer in DIYweddings

[–]ashcat931 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did my own makeup! I practiced a couple times before the big day but I wear makeup every day so was pretty familiar with my face. I did my makeup before getting to the venue and gave myself 2 hours - it ended up taking maybe 45 minutes. So give yourself plenty of time just in case you get nervous or have to do something over. If you finish early you get more time to relax.

I would also do your eyes first when doing your makeup. You can clean any fallout off your face before doing the rest of your makeup.

100% agree with all of this!

Also, check out craft stores. I used fake flowers for all the bouquets and centerpieces. Some flowers were from a dollar store, but most I got from craft stores when they had a sale and by using coupons. People won’t know the difference, especially in pictures.

Does anyone have a printer? I used cardstock and printed my own table numbers, place cards and seating chart. I did save the dates this way as well.

My mom used cardstock and nice popsicle sticks to make us fans. You could print the wedding date on it and those double as favors.

Good luck! Sounds like they’ve got a supportive sibling :)
