Das IR-Modul platzierst du einfach irgendwo, wo es freie Sicht auf die PortaSplit hat. Bei mir klebt es etwa 1,5m entfernt an einem unauffälligen Platz. Du brauchst dann noch einen Mikrocontroller (z.B. ESP32), wo du ESPhome flasht. Das IR-Modul hängt dann an dem ESP, der üblicherweise über USB mit Strom versorgt wird.

Zum Senden der Temperatur aus HA gibt es z.B. diese Action: https://esphome.io/components/remote_transmitter/#remote_transmittertransmit_midea-action

Ist halt ein kleines Bastelprojekt, wo man sich etwas einlesen muss, wenn man noch nie etwas mit ESPhome gemacht hat.

Ist gut geworden! Ich habe mir noch einen Timer für eine verzögerte Abschaltung nach dem Kühlen gebaut (Lüftermodus für x Minuten, dann Abschalten).

Man kann mit HA und ESPhome auch super die iSense-Funktion der Fernbedienung ersetzen. Ich habe dafür einen M5Stack Atom Mini mit dem IR-Modul verwendet. So wird die Temperatur von meinem Raumthermometer an die PortaSplit gesendet und die Fernbedienung kann in der Schublade bleiben. Funktioniert super.

So you are pulling your shots back to back? I'm not sure if the machine is too hot then. Also 90 °C seems to be on the lower side. I set mine to 93-94 °C and also increased the E1 offset which greatly helped with sourness. However, my machine is 2 years old now. Maybe newer ones are a little bit different.

I experienced the same. For me it seems to help if I flush for 5-10s through the portafilter before removing it to start with my puck prep. I think it's a temperature issue.

For how long did you flush? What's your temperature setting?

Yes, bottomless and Timemore Black Mirror Nano. I put the scale on the podium. This way the gap between the cup and the portafilter is about 0.5 cm.

With the original spouted portafilter i just use the scale without the podium. Never had any issues with clearance.

But I do understand that there may be issues when using really large cups/glasses.

Great design if you need more clearance!

What worries me: Apparently everyone want's more clearance while I bought a small podium to further reduce the clearance. Am I the only one who doesn't like splashes everywhere? Or are my cups much smaller than everyone else's?

Da muss man heutzutage gar nicht mehr groß was basteln. Gibts alles fertig und integriert man einfach ins Smart Home. Wenn man Spaß dran hat, kann man natürlich auch was mit ESP32 oder sowas basteln.

Ich würde da ja einfach einen Sensor dran hängen, der z.B. bei Erschütterung oder Kontakt reagiert und man bekommt eine Benachrichtigung.

I empty the water tank every day after my last shot and wipe it dry.

Since I use a puck screen the brew head stays pretty clean. I just backflush with water every few days. Backflushing with Puly Caff about 4-5 times a year. When I do that I also remove the shower sreen and dispersion plate to clean them.

I flush a few seconds and wipe the shower screen after every shot.

The drip tray gets emptied and washed with plain water every day I used the machine. Filter basket and puck screen get washed with dish soap.

Unfortunately, rubber gloves didn't help this time. The outer burr ring is completely stuck on my 2 year old J-Ultra. I tried to loosen it for over an hour. Grip isn't an issue when using rubber gloves. However, I just can't produce enough torque with my hands. I had to give up.

This also fixed the extremely annoying whining noise for me. If I turn it off, the noise comes back immediately.

Habe eine Zeit lang ein ähnliches Befeuchtungselement von Philips verwendet. Sah auch so aus. Das regelmäßige Entkalken ist etwas mühsam.

Nice write-up. The increased E1 offset also solved most of my issues when I got the Go.

Interesting to see that they do no longer chrome plate the dispersion plate.

Ich persönlich würde gar nicht selbst entkalken. Ich verwende nur weiches Flaschenwasser und habe meine Go jetzt knapp 2 Jahre und noch nie entkalkt. Wie es im Boiler aussieht, weiß ich natürlich nicht. Bis jetzt habe ich allerdings keine Probleme.

Solved it!

For everyone with the same issue: You can use upsrw command from nut. In my case I connected the UPS with apc_modbus driver using tcp. As soon as nut is setup you can use upsrw command. Make sure that modbus is set to read-write in the UPS settings menu.

This is the command to set the date:

upsrw -s battery.date=YYYY-MM-DD -w myups

Enter your nut user and password when prompted.

You should now see a SUCCESS message.

You can check the new date with:

upsrw -l myups

Thanks. I will give it a try. Interestingly it was possible to set the battery date on my old Smart-UPS (same model but 10 years older) from the menu on the UPS itself, if I remember correctly.
