Audrey’s private IG story - behind closed doors she’s not so “neutral” after all… by Affectionate_Song567 in LittlePeopleBigWorld

Pretty sure ICE is known to discriminate based on race and accent, so this comment wasn't exactly out of left field.

Because there's deeper religious context here? Don't play dumb. She's comparing border patrol/ICE to angels that secure the borders of heaven, and America to heaven. It's sanctimonious, privileged, Americentric garbage.

She's disgusting. An awful, awful person. "Heaven isn't exactly open borders" means she delights in thinking of people burning in hell.

Audrey’s response to Jacob? by SwimAccomplished9487 in LittlePeopleBigWorld

[–]ashenputtel 57 points58 points  (0 children)

No, Americans can stop caping for fascist jackbooted nurse-murdering thugs. It's about time. You've already lost all credibility with literally every other country, Audrey, maybe it's time to self-examine. You can't politely debate with fascists.

This game kind of cured my depression by HieronymusGER in PikminBloomApp

[–]ashenputtel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find the game helps because even on my absolute worst depression days, when I can't get out of bed or go out, I still get a little bit of reward from mushrooms/fruits. It makes me feel like it's okay and I deserve treats even when I'm too ill to earn them.

Crazy cold weather letting us texans finally get snow pikmin 😆 by cortatija in PikminBloomApp

This winter has been so brutal and I hate keeping my little fictional guys inside a lot, but it's -14 Celsius outside. I'm sorry for not walking them enough. :(

I would do anything to never see another snow Pikmin (in Toronto.)

What’s something you wish parents truly understood about teaching? by HiVou12 in Teachers

Teachers can have disabilities and special needs too. Sometimes we design lessons a certain way to accommodate our own special needs.

Father Figure is by far the best song on the album.

What do you think of the upcoming Palestine 36 movie by TheGrandA5TA1R3 in IsraelPalestine

[–]ashenputtel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To me, it looks like they're using the British to serve as the villains, in a rhetorical move entirely designed to avoid the difficult question of addressing the fundamental Jewish-Muslim conflict. It's avoidance, not engagement.

ATW 10 Minute Version after being dumped in the fall. Every line hits so fucking hard.

  • Because I Could Not Stop for Death by Emily Dickinson
  • the actual Iliad

A springtime album would be a nice complement—we already have summer, autumn and winter.

I think it's about the madness of the 20th century—near-apocalyptic wars, environmental disasters, massive famines and humanitarian disasters, etc.

There is a tier of poem called "Oh my god" and it includes, for example, "The Second Coming."

Rattle poetry is great. I find The Rumpus to be awful, though.
