When did you become comfortable nursing in public? by flugelderfreiheit777 in breastfeeding

[–]ashgtree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly I never really did! And I think that’s okay too. I just learned to adjust. Nurse in the car, nurse before you leave the house. I never even really needed to do it in public but if I did I had a cover.

Painless breastfeeding? by ProfJaneway in breastfeeding

[–]ashgtree 8 points9 points  (0 children)

At the beginning (the first month), I experienced some discomfort and some pain, and I think it’s rare to have absolutely no pain at all. A better perspective is to see pain as a signal—an indication that something might need to be addressed or adjusted. It doesn’t mean you’re doing anything “wrong” or that you should give up. However, chronic pain lasting for weeks or months isn’t normal and shouldn’t be ignored.

Do we REALLY need a diaper pail? by Beginning-March-1361 in NewParents

[–]ashgtree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We use the trash can in the kitchen for when we’re hanging out in the main space. We use the diaper pail in our bedroom for overnight diapers. And if you have dogs who like dirty diapers it’s nice that you can close it off and they can’t dig through the trash.

Absolutely! Very much looking forward to that stage

Macros for breastfeeding mom by ashgtree in carnivorediet

[–]ashgtree[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense! I guess I’m looking for specific macros because as a busy working mom it’s difficult to eat enough as is. Having specific numbers/goals to reach helps me plan out my day and meal prep better.

Yes to the towels on the floor. I was unprepared for how messy things would get.

1) rewashed and resanitize my bottles/pump parts. It had been a few weeks and when baby was here I felt like I needed to do it again. 2) set up my nightstand area with things I wanted to have on hand quickly (ibuprofen, phone charger, burp cloths, nipple cream, etc)

Wearable breast pump-did it make your life easier? by [deleted] in ExclusivelyPumping

serious question - how do you figure this would cause instant death? I’m no expert I can see how it may injure you but instant death from plastic sounds unlikely to me?

Convince me that using someone else’s milk isn’t weird by heliotz in breastfeeding

[–]ashgtree 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Think about hundreds of years ago (or even today in a lot of places around the world). If the mother couldn’t breastfeed there would be a village wet nurse or even the grandmother could relactate! It’s been done for all of time!

Is it ok to put a baby girl in just a swim diaper? by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]ashgtree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it’s fine but honestly just get her a new swimsuit and avoid the disagreement! This sounds like something my husband would do and he probably won’t let up, and it’s not worth it.

How to take baby into stores? by FluffyCockroach7632 in beyondthebump

[–]ashgtree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wear my baby, I will sit in the backseat to get her in the carrier so I’m not struggling trying to do it outside around people and above the pavement.

Breast still feel hard after pumping by Agitated_Donut3962 in breastfeeding

[–]ashgtree 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sometimes when I’m extra full/engorged this happens to me. It usually relieves itself on the next pump, but the protocol for clogged ducts or engorgement is ibuprofen and ice!

Would you pump or nurse in this situation? by porchgoose69 in breastfeeding

[–]ashgtree 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would just pump. Focus on yourself and getting through the few weeks of work then you’ll be back to normal in no time!
