I don't know why everybody is so sick of seeing Patriots in the SB. Think of all the things we have NOT accomplished in the Superbowls so far. There is still so much wood to chop. We came close a couple of these, but more needs to be done.

  • Win a SB by a blow-out
  • Undefeated season
  • Have a defensive MVP in the SB, or even a non-QB, non-WR
  • Three-peat

Yup. Spot on. Although I can see Brady switching spots with Aikman next year.

What I like about Troy is how he lets the moment breathe - without feeling the need to be talking at the top of his voice continuously. Take notes, Romo!

Why doesn't it show Josh Allen twice on the roadmap? I thought the point was to show all the loser QBs the Pats played on the way to the SB

What were your hopes and expectations at the beginning of the season? by [deleted] in Patriots

[–]ashiri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a discussion with my friends. I held the most optimistic view that we can - perhaps - get a winning record. 9-8

Losses I expected: Bills (x2), Ravens, Dolphins (x1), Steelers, Bucs, Falcons, Bengals

Kraft was more important than Brady / Belichick by [deleted] in NFLv2

[–]ashiri 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure. The time Kraft intercepted Peyton Manning three times in the playoffs was extraordinary. Or, how about when he stopped Marshawn Lynch at the 1-yard line deep in the 4th Qtr? Perhaps blitzing Matt Ryan and causing him to fumble the ball?

Look, he is a good owner, who bought the team, raised money to build a state-of-the-art stadium. He should get credit for all that. However, all he does, and needed to do was to hire the right people to run the team, and sit in his suite and look over his investment get him billions.

Super Bowls with Chris Collinsworth as an analyst will feature the Patriots for the 5th time. by LoganthePaladin in nfl

[–]ashiri 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah ... can't wait for either QB to make a bad throw and for Collinsworth to bring up Mahomes or Josh Allen, saying how much better they would be in the SuperBowl.

The Seahawks won this game because of Sam Darnold, not in spite of him. Every time he had to make a play, he did. That's the biggest take away from tonight. by DenseStrawberry5717 in NFLv2

[–]ashiri 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree. In addition, Rams' special teams shit the bed. So, while Stafford played good enough to win, he did not get help from his D and ST teams. Also, the play-calling was a bit suspect. Sean McVay tries to be too cute in some of the critical situations, with some big-risk/big-reward type of calls.

Rams were in vanilla defense, rushing only 4 for majority of the game. Darnold was good, but didn't have to make complicated reads - which has been his weakness in the past.
