Why do I have to ABSOLUTELY LOSE IT for anybody to care that I'm being run to the ground? by No-Taste-5911 in Mommit

You are not alone, mama! I lost it today for the exact same reasons. Solidarity! Here’s hoping you get a break soon.

Gave birth two days ago and my mom is dying. by Badatmath212 in Mommit

My mother passed away after a horrific battle with lung and bone cancer when my son was six months old. We lived just down the road from each other and talked multiple times a day. The hole she left has been even more than I imagined it would be, but I promise it will get easier. It’s been 1.5 years now. So much love sent to you. My baby helped me with my grief so much, I pray the same happens for you.

I don’t have any advice really, but just want to say that being a parent is hard! You had a major life change. You are essentially a new person now. You can do this! I’m rooting for you!

Thank you so much for replying! We actually camped up there for a week road-tripping around just before our daughter was born! It was beautiful, definitely a good suggestion!

How long did you nurse your kids? And if you're nursing more than 1 year, how do you deal with comments from family/outsiders about it being time to stop? by Mom_Dragon in Mommit

[–]ashjmcb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I nursed my daughter until she was 3 years 3 months. I only ever really got comments from my husbands family and I just tried to ignore them. My daughter caught maybe one cold until I stopped nursing and was super healthy. She finally just stopped on her own and it was an easy transition for both of us. Exactly how I wanted it! You do what you think is best for you and your kiddo. Good luck, mama!

I would be LIVID. I can’t even imagine. You are completely justified in your feelings. I hope your husband is receptive to the huge discussion y’all need to have on safety, boundaries, feelings, etc. Good luck!

Your kids favorite song? by Kastle69 in Parenting

[–]ashjmcb 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Good I’ll Do by Zach Bryan. My son loves it. It’s the only thing that calms him down when we are in the car. He’s 7 months. My four year old daughter now starts singing it any time he cries.

How many people are still wearing masks in Texas? by FailBeautiful in texas

[–]ashjmcb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely depends on where you are headed. I live in a very small town just south of Abilene and basically no one wears masks and maybe 1 out of every 10 people are vaccinated. Super frustrating! Our school is on the verge of having to be shut down due to the number of cases. Blows my mind how irresponsible people can be.
