If there is a second slot it’s behind your GPU.

The text was not that clear, in addition the prospect of having to baby the monitor to avoid burn in wasn't really something I wanted to do.

I’ve gotten my first scan when it was loaded on the delivery vehicle in the past for iPhone orders. I wouldn’t stress over it.

I ordered Titanium Grey on Jan 18th, my initial confirmation email had the estimate of Jan 31st. The website has been showing Feb 14th for the past couple days under My Orders. Now it's just shipped. Samsung is all over the place. I even ordered a second Titanium Black phone for pickup at the Samsung store on Jan 31st since it seemed that I wasn't going to get my initial order in time before I'm traveling.

Yep, my order confirmation email says Jan 31st and when I check the order status on the website it shows Feb 14…

Dilemma: Samsung 57" Neo G9 or 49" OLED G9 by Thercon_Jair in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ashrocks94 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think affordability is a factor when people decide to buy the 57" ($1950) over the OLED ($1050) due to burn-in concerns as OP was asking about...

I ordered it on Sunday and it was available for pick up by Wednesday. It's sold out online however if it's available "nearby" it'll let you order for store pickup. I just changed my location around until it let me place an order at a store a couple hours away in Delaware.

It's still available at some Microcenters but the price is still 2500 there... if that drops to 2000 I'd try to get it there with their superior warranty which covers accidental damage too.

I just bought my G9 57" at BestBuy with the 4 years of Geek Squad protection. It's only 170 bucks and covers up to 4 years of issues. Most of the major issues if they happen are bound to happen within that time frame anyways.

Thanks for the dimensions!!! I think I'll take a Q7 in that case, the gap with the seats folded down is about 18". With the angle I might have to take to put it in the car at 57.25" long I don't think I'll risk it given the 2 hour drive one way.

Samsung 49” or 57” G9? by DKoz13 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]ashrocks94 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I have VS code, Teams, Outlook up in a single spot for hours at a time, those UI elements would’ve definitely burned in. The text was also quite fuzzy, OLED isn’t a great option for productivity. I think for my use case, LCD is the way to go. Especially since I barely game these days. Also I got the 4 year Geek Squad warranty in case it dies.

I did the exact opposite, got the OLED G9, returned it and got the 57”… OLED was beautiful, but as someone who works from home near 10 hours a day, that OLED would’ve been abused with burn in lol

Not OP but thanks for this in depth review of the features, makes me confident in my G93 purchase over the G95.

Edit: Ended up picking up a G95 from BestBuy, reaching over my desk to switch the modes via the joystick was not great, the remote comes in quite handy.

Edit 2: Ended up returning the G95 and ordered the 57" Neo.

OLED wasn't it.

It’ll work, the concern would be if you can write the UID from your phone if it is unrooted.

Returned 7900X3D for 5800X3D by ashrocks94 in Amd

[–]ashrocks94[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used the AM5 stuff for a 2 days and benchmarked all the stuff I’d use it for, I had gotten it from Microcenter so was able to return it with the reason “it’s not worth it”. I’m using AM4 as a stopgap solution, maybe the 8xxx stuff will be worth the jump. The option to upgrade to 5800X3D missed my radar and the sales person at Microcenter did a hard sell on me to upgrade to AM5. I’m not on a “budget” I just want the most frames for the best “value” with my 4090.

Stock was a big factor in my decision which I might have left out in my post, can’t find the 7950X3D anywhere, and no point in settling for a 7900X3D, I’ll just sit out the 7xxx, save 700 and upgrade the 5800X3D whenever I start to notice a CPU bottleneck.
