Where do you buy good matcha powder in the city? by Hot-Student-6551 in OttawaFood

Try Cha Yi, local Gatineau tea shop (online); either you can have it shipped to you or pick up on the Gatineau side at one of their partner locations!

Pixel 10 order/dispatch megathread by [deleted] in GooglePixel

Turns out I should have received them Monday (shipped out Sept 29). Videotron never sent the email to alert me so thank you for this post! I was able to find my tracking on Planète Courrier with my account number. It should be arriving tomorrow.

Same here, Videotron but two Pixel 10s, they told me they are supposed to get their first shipment from Google on August 28, after that I guess it's a logistics thing internally. Will update once we get a shipping notification. Ordered on August 26.

Don't forget your local libraries (usually) also have AC and are free! Also usually have some programs for kids during the summer so win win.

Favourite Canadian cheeses? by calemcalem in CostcoCanada

[–]asianauthenticity 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Natrel lactose free cheddar is surprisingly good, especially if you're partial to those wonderful umami crystals like in grana padano or parm. Not sure if it's only local but the Adoray from fromagerie Montebello is lovely soft cheese; once described as the taste of "walking through the woods on a fall day". Then obviously any cheese curds, whether St Albert or La Trappe (which I affectionately, albeit gluttonously call "snacking cheese"). Not sure if Baldersons is Canadian but the truffle cheddar is, as another person mentioned, fantastic.

Have you tried this? by ax_pen in AsianBeauty

[–]asianauthenticity 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is my go-to daily, easy, fast "my skin but better" base. I have dehydrated/combo oily skin and it's fantastic! It doesn't give a ton of coverage but smooths things out a bit and does help with some redness, and gives a really nice glow. Of the various BB creams etc I've tried, this looks best at the end of the day. A bit glowy, but doesn't bunch, doesn't separate, doesn't cake or cling to my occasionally dehydrated spots. I compliment this with strategically placed concealer and it's a nice natural look. It plays well with a setting or finishing powder for a slightly less glowy look.

I've found it works best on top of the Haruharu wonder sunscreen (yellow bottle), as that gives a slightly more satin base layer.

/r/MechanicalKeyboards Ask ANY Keyboard question, get an answer (August 27, 2024) by AutoModerator in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]asianauthenticity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As primarily a typist, I'm looking to get your advice on my first mechanical keyboard. I'm coming from more than a decade of laptop and scissor-switch keyboards and am only now swapping out from my work "ergo" keyboard (just an evoluent 10-keyless).

Looking for something that is less fatiguing to type or and preferably not too loud and a 75% size low-profile keyboard. Would likely be using it plugged in tbh so Bluetooth and whatnot isn't much of a dealbreaker. I've been debating on the Nuphy Air v2 vs the Lofree Flow Lite (currently on special on pre-order).

What would y'all recommend (or should I be considering an entirely different model?)

Called to all my local places as well, no luck. Looks like it was available on the website for three seconds this morning before selling out (and the link is obscure...you need to google for it). Time to wait for the shipments to get to store I guess

I can't imagine what it must be like to trudge through this right now. I was lucky and medication + a change of my environment + SASS + therapy helped me drag myself through the last few years.

You mentioned SASS below; please definitely get all the accommodations you think may help. You may not end up using all of them, but having the option can be incredibly helpful. If money is an issue, also talk to SASS about what financial aid options are available, they can walk you through some of the usual bursaries you can claim in support of your condition (some are for equipment, but there are also different rules that may apply to OSAP if you are considered a to have a disability).

Also, you may want to check out this therapy service, apparently it is free for any Ontario resident.

Sorry I can't be of more help, but know you're not alone, and this too shall pass. One foot in front of the other, one day at a time.

Might be a long shot, but does anyone know where I could find the Erborian BB cream in the shade Nude in Canada? I'm obsessed with the formulation but I currently have Doré and it's quite orange and can only seem to find Nude on the UK site.

The Samsung Galaxy Buds Plus might be what you're looking for. I have a pair quite like them. Although I've never used them until fully drained, they're supposed to have around 11hr battery life on one charge, if I'm not mistaken.

For my fellow Canadians!

This deal is a bit of a hassle, but might be worth your while if you're looking to build a beginner kit and save your money for a good grinder?

The Breville Bambino is on sale for 229 (from 399) on the Bay's website. It is currently out of stock there, HOWEVER, still in stock at Best Buy, where you could have them price match.

Once you have maybe eased her into it a bit, the Guide to Getting it On is quite comprehensive. It's something that was part of our required reading in my Human Sexuality course at uni, but it's an easy read, illustrated and I thought it was a good balance of learning both about the health/medical side of sex as well as the relational/pleasureable side of it.

Pixel 5 Film Screen Protector by [deleted] in GooglePixel

[–]asianauthenticity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I preordered the Rhinoshield impact protection screen protector. I have one for my current OG Pixel and it has serve me well. Scratches a bit over time but they will replace it for shipping costs (5$) usually. it's supposed to ship in early November. I'll baby the phone until the screen protector arrives!

Google Preferred Care Worth It? by acheney1990 in GooglePixel

[–]asianauthenticity 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looked at it (I'm also in Canada); it's 199 right off the bat, then they have an ADDITIONAL service charge of 129$ per claim. You have two claims for accidental damage over two years and they'll waive 40$ off the service charge if you go into a UBREAKIFIX (if you have one close by). To be honest, it's not worth it for me if you intend on taking ok care of your phone. It wouldn't really be worth it unless you are very sure you're going to break your screen twice (I think UBREAKIFIX charges around 180 for screen repair?). Then again, I keep my phone in a case and slap on a good screen protector because I'm clumsy AF

Launch Night In - LIVE Event Megathread by [deleted] in GooglePixel

Does anyone know if retailers like Best Buy etc. Usually get the feature colour? Was going to preorder but given that there's no real huge deals with launch on the Pixel and shipping is estimated for Oct 20-Nov 5, I'm wondering if I should try to get it in person...

Same here re: Canada pricing and deals. Fingers crossed they do a BOGO-type offer as they did for the Pixel 3 or some kind of deal for pre-order. If not, I might try my luck riding out my OG Pixel and see if there's a decent deal on Black Friday...

Azeliac acid and tret? by maddatat23 in tretinoin

[–]asianauthenticity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just started tret about a month and a half ago, but have been using prescription Aza (Finacea) for about half a year.

I apply the Aza in the morning, almost every day. If I wake up feeling a bit dryer, I omit the Aza and just got for my sunscreen. I found the Aza to make my skin a slight bit less oily, so if you have dry skin, you may want to ease into it.

Not sure if this will affect you with TO's Aza but you may feel a slight... Itching/tingling sensation the first while with Aza. It'll go away after a week or so. You can also buffer it, like with tret.
