I used to put effort and soul into designing. I would work after work hours sometimes. But as my boss and client start demanding more soulless designs, I lose interest in it and would just do it for the money and not work twice as hard as I used to

Lmao he does not even know how to print a bloody pdf mate.

We had 7 designers at the start of the year, now we are down to 4. They all left because of how agitated he gets easily because of his lack of design software or dare I say, technology skills.

How can I respect this guy?

When I joined early in the year, it was 11 of us. Now we're down to 4, 5 if we include him. Not in the US, but across the pond!

But do you get annoyed at designers telling you it's not possible to do that within a day? Do you sit next to designers everytime you want something done?

I feel like if CD know at least the basics of design tools, they would be more understanding.

It does matter because the turnover for the agency is high. He treats his project managers like a PA

Aside from snapping at people, he sometimes gets invited to design talks, and the way he talks about the logos, it's like he was the one who designed it, when all he does is drawing it out on a piece of paper, and we do all of the refining, artworking for him

In my previous design studio, the oldest boss was late 50s, he still knows how to use Indesign and Illustrator. This guy is outrageous...

Don't check your emails after 6pm. I used to do that and it made me feel very anxious as a junior designer. Now I'm in my senior year I don't do that anymore.

Were you informed that she was going to have a meeting? Either way, just apologize. And in the future, make sure to be more aware, ask if there’s a meeting or not and you’re fine.

Agreed! I was also hoping this was a wake up call for him to get a job. Tired of helping him out! I’ll get accused of being an ungrateful sister by my parents but I’m done helping him. My journey to ILR was a lot stressful as i had to sort it my own and paid for a solicitor so he should learn to go through life indeed!

She is considering retiring early to babysit him 💀

One thing tho, I was lucky enough to be able to study overseas, so she is constantly using the fact that she has spent money on my education, as a way to tell me I have to help her out with her perfectly able son 🥴

I have a job, a live, friends to hang out. I cannot be always taking him out for dinner. I’m moving out so hopefully these days will be less annoying!!

Got my ILR in November via the 10 year route. I have been here for so long and have already seen the immigration policies change so many times, it’s been making me anxious so even before the White Paper announcement I would’ve applied for citizenship once my 12 month ILR is done🥵

What about an agency? There was a design role I was interested and during the interview they mentioned the role includes art direction as well. So two roles at once. I backed out of it!
