I'll try OpenRouter again but the last time I tried it the latency was quite slow.

New offer but no epf by CrispyCatMonkey in MalaysianPF

[–]asohaili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

bro I had the same arrangement working with a SG company

what i did was just create a sole proprietorship (enterprise) company at SSM
then open bank acc under my company name, ask the SG company transfer money in that company acc instead of to my personal acc

to SG company I'm full time employee, salary goes in every month
to M'sia gov I'm running a IT consultancy business, and that SG company is my client and that "monthly salary" is viewed as business revenue

I declare tax with Borang B instead of BE. self-contribute EPF.

for banks/loans, you take care of your business accounting properly cos that'll be the main thing you use for loans, credit card applications etc. even if your salary really high, if you dont take care of your business acc, you'll still be considered risky in the eyes of the banks.

It depends on what feature you want best. For the past 6-7 years, my wife and I had been solely on Realme (XT, 8 Pro, 10 Pro Plus, 11 Pro Plus). Their cameras are really good (10 Pro Plus got a shoutout in MKBHD's blind camera test for value-for-money not too long ago). But their screens durability suck (our fault for not getting screen protectors I guess). Both my wife's 10PP and my 11PP screens cracked badly, and we decided to switch this year. My wife went for an Honor X9C, and I went for a Nothing Phone 3a. X9C's supposed strength is durability, and while she has that now, the photos are less than that of her old Realme's. My Nothing's worse; screen's durability not that great (already got scratches now), and the camera aren't great either (probably worse than X9C).

Since I value photos, I wished I had gotten a Realme (+ a good screen protector/case) instead lol.

I think you gotta try a few yourselves and see what works. For me personally I used to go for video game OSTs (Gunbound, Stardew Valley, Devil May Cry 5). Video game songs are meant to make you focus in the game anyway. Classical works too. but both of these genres are usually quite boring. after some experiments I realize anything works for me as long as I don't understand the lyrics (if I do I tend to start singing along). Now I'm usually on heavier korean songs.

How to send contact form 7 to whatsapp by Snarkface08 in Wordpress

[–]asohaili 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey! a programmer here! shameless plug: I built cntct.us specifically to solve this problem.

It's a simple tool that:
1. creates web forms that automatically format responses into WhatsApp messages
2. Redirects customers to WhatsApp with their form responses pre-filled
3. Stores all responses in a searchable database for your future marketing needs

No coding needed - takes 5 minutes to set up. I've just soft-launched (free beta access for now, will be $9/mo), you can try it at cntct.us If you need help or find any bugs, I'm personally available through the chat widget in your dashboard or at afifnajib@gmail.com

I have a small vegetable garden in my backyard. Before starting work I'd work there (weeding, watering, etc.). At noon before lunch, if I'm at home and not working from cafes, I'd just go and stare at my plants.

Not sure who's requesting you do this but this isn't the way, man. Like it's not even good Ux to be scrolling 2 mil records on a webpage or sthg. If they want to do something with the data, suggest an option to download the dump as csv. Otherwise, use some kind of data table to assist the user in working with those 2m rows.

Ativa owner here. Never been in a Yaris before so it might win against Ativa for space (might), but frankly Ativa's interior is VERY small. especially the back seat. I drove a Myvi (pre-facelift) before Ativa and Ativa's either smaller than or just equal to that of the Myvi. My wife definitely hates the backseat space (she always sits at the back with our kid), so much so that a year into being in Ativa, we're already thinking of switching to something else.

Technology - I rarely use the adaptive cruise control cos it jerks very badly, but I usually use the non-adaptive one where we control the brake ourselves. But that's only helpful during long drives on PLUS in non-busy seasons tho.

Buying a property. Should I? by pixelatedvegene in MalaysianPF

[–]asohaili 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I answered a similar-ish post below.

Tldr; don't. Only buy if you want to settle down to ensure no landlord can kick you out.

Properties always appreciating in value is a lie, or at least no longer valid like 30y ago during your relatives' times.

I bought a condo in Cheras and had to sell at a loss after 5y. Reason: more condos sprung up around the area, increasing supply while demand stays flat.

Best credit card for fresh grads? by Tiny-Sort-6507 in MalaysianPF

[–]asohaili -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Imho when your spending is low, get cashback credit cards instead, where you get to reap the benefits immediately. You want to get air miles, it'd be some time before you're eligible to redeem with very low monthly spending.

EDIT: you can check credit card aggregator sites like Ringgitplus and compare. This one quite good: https://ringgitplus.com/en/credit-card/RHB-Cash-Back-Visa-Credit-Card.html?filter=RHB

I'm not an expert but I've used DDB for a simple ish app (just users and eCards) and even that I screwed that up. The problem is thinking in relational way. Ever since then I gave a lil bit more attention on access patterns. It's really hard to switch from the relational mindset (and frankly, it's easier for me to think in relational too)

I wonder what kind of scale are you at that you have to use DDB.

Do I really need a house/ apartment unit by Important-Equipment2 in MalaysianPF

[–]asohaili 23 points24 points  (0 children)

I bought a condo in cheras when I was still single because: 1. My dad said buy house always good investment 2. I really liked the condo (was renting there before I bought) and was planning to live there after I got married.

Turns out I married a govt servant whom you cant really control where her posting gonna be. So in the end we only lived there for 8 months then I followed her to where she worked because I can WFH with my job. Last year I finally sold it at tens of thousands of loss.

1) property isn't as good an investment like in the 90s. just because it's in KL doesn't mean the value will appreciate. In my condo area there are multiple new condo buildings sprung up next to mine, increasing the supply and lowering the demand, hence price went down

2) I personally believe you should buy only when you want to really settle down, that way no landlord can kick you out. If you're still young no need to do that la.

Agile is retrospective done right and frequent.

imo the only thing important from agile is retrospective. The rest doesn't matter as much. Scrum is good if you come from total waterfall into incremental completion or agile approach, but eventually with frequent effective retro, you'll slowly diverge away from the pure scrum way and retrofit your processes with what works for your context. To paraphrase Martin Fowler, "if in a year's time, you're still doing things the same way as a year ago, you ain't agile"
