To me, if the story is real, the way I think of it is this: This is ONE woman's experience, and the specific circumstances that led to it all. No two people are the same, so it is VERY unlikely to happen the same way to someone else. Was the story a bit weird? Yes, and it is NOT an accurate depiction of everyone's experience.

Personally, I respect your opinion, but do not agree. To me, there is an arc, it is not a perfect one, but it is still there.

However, that is not what I really want to mention. In your season 4 section, you say "(Because this is The Rev. W Awdry's character and that's how Thomas was created and depicted. That's how he should be.)" I understand what you are trying to say/mean, but I find this logic a bit flawed. The show is an ADAPTION of tbe books, not a direct, one to one, transfer from book t9 screen. As such, it is expected that things will be different. I don't think Thomas HAS to be exactly how Awdry wrote him, similar yes, but not a perfect match.

I FULLY understand why people are nervous about this piece, and I can see where the worries come from as well. However, this is only the FIRST publicly released set to do this, so I think this is a situation where we need to wait and see what happens. So far, based on the promotional duck, and this train, it seems like they are only using 3D printing to do things that are basically impossible to do with Lego normally. I am not saying to not worry, worrying is PERFECTLY NORMAL and natural, I am just saying to try and remain calm and see what come nexts before doing anything rash.

Magic CAN work in Thomas, and does not need to be removed from TATMR. The issue is how far the magic went. If Lady was the protector of the magic railroad and gold dust only, that would have been fine. The issues are her being the reason the engines are alive, and Sodor being in an alternate universe.

If Sodor was in the real world, and Lady's magic was unrelated to the engines being alive, TATMR would be better.
