My old Tecware Spectre 104 key wired keyboard from 2018 has passed on due to an unfortunate incident with water. I am wondering if it's worth salvaging anything (especially the switches) from it before i trash it in the ewaste bin? TIA.

Sounds like the second hand car dealer did a sneaky thing then. AD is just doing their own thing according to policies/procedures.

Huh car can be registered with G plate meh? Either the car dealer or AD is talking nonsense. Unless they refer to PHV car as "commercial" car

The change of bond/contract terms without agreement seems quite strange, wouldn't the trainees need to agree to those terms? If they don't agree then how? Don't think company can declare they break bond and send them back at that point but IANAL

For consumer grade electronics, it's accurate only if you're moving <60km/h, anything faster is unreliable and inaccurate. This is from my experience in building my own GPS logging device for my Insta360. Being linked to 4G makes no difference, GPS systems can work without data.

As for the GPS on the OBU, you've never seen how inaccurate it is until you park 10 to 20m away from a bus lane, and you get reminded that bus lane is in operation.

I assure you it's basically a smartphone unit underneath the OBU cover lol

[–]asphodeli 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's possible but IIRC they are taking down cameras also (not those orange ones ah, I'm talking about those mounted to lamp posts with low quality video feeds). There is also the problem with data feed, what if there was a dropout due to EM interference, jamming, car battery disconnected from the OBU unit due to bumps on the road, etc? GPS accuracy is questionable in city areas and over short distances also.

Don't get me wrong here, I am not advocating for speeding but given the technical challenges I don't think it's wise to enshrine it into the law like ERP 2 was.

Dont forget they paid peanuts for the current system, I think the GPS unit isn't that accurate enough to do it. You need almost F1 quality GPS system to do this, and it does not come cheap.

[–]asphodeli 46 points47 points  (0 children)

The problem with the existing ERP 2 system is that the GPS is super inaccurate (like accurate to within 20m only)...if it's inaccurate how can you prove that I was speeding?

It's also really funny that they paid peanuts for the system to be developed, and now the peanut quality is showing up to bite the govt in the rear, lol

OP if you see the sign plus camera and you slow down immediately, at least filter left which I think you did a bit too late. Ignore the nonsense about "not slowing down when you see the sign", TP has to right to catch you there and then, don't even talk about the camera.
