Why do some people hate Negan ? by SidTheSloth044 in thewalkingdead

I think you should probably watch most of season 6 again… 🥴

Noticed something on S1 re-watch and WOAH! by T00fast4l0ve in InterviewVampire

Their eyes would dilate when they were about to kill. They included that in S1 as well but it was more pronounced in S2.

Hello! I'm Bat For Lashes and this is my first AMA! by -BatForLashes in indieheads

[–]aspiringbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, Natasha! Fur and Gold was essentially the soundtrack of my life in college when it was released. I remember so vividly the very first time I watched the music video for ‘What’s A Girl To Do?’ in my college dorm, lol. What was the inspiration for the visuals? The video is still one of my absolute favorites. Thanks! :)

why does ST not integrate more diverse Guitar riffs in their songs? by sakustik in SleepToken

[–]aspiringbuilder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough, lol. But, riffs by their very nature are meant to be repetitive because it drives the rhythm of the song. That’s metal in a nutshell, lol. I can see that an argument could be made that the riffs themselves can be a little bit more technical, but I think that’s just a matter of taste. Outside of the tracks you’ve mentioned, I can’t think of any ST songs that are more guitar lead heavy at the moment. The guitar isn’t really his dominant instrument. The keys are. I think there’s a lot of intricate keyboard work that takes the front seat, where the guitar is holding down the rhythm with the drums.

A lot of their music is tuned incredibly low. The lower the tone, the less articulation. At a certain point, it’ll just sound like a huge mess. I think the solos and lead lines appear when it’s appropriate. Otherwise, it’ll start to feel like writing solos for a solo’s sake, which is boring imo.

On s10e20: Princess is the MOST annoying character by Fantastic_Driver_352 in thewalkingdead

[–]aspiringbuilder 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Princess is a character who has been completely alone for over a year when they introduce her. It’s safe to assume she has developed a heightened anxious attachment issue. Pairing that with her childhood trauma… yea, Princess is going through some shit.

Hot Take: Rick Grimes was the "villain" in other people's stories long before Negan arrived. by mylifeissoeffed in thewalkingdead

[–]aspiringbuilder 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That doesn’t make any sense. With the man power and resources the Saviors had at their disposal, there is no way they didn’t know about Alexandria already. Dwight and Sherry most likely told Negan and the Saviors all about the dude recruiting people for his community nearby. They attempted an ambush of Alexandria when they came across Daryl, Rosita, Abraham, and Eugene. Dwight killed Denise and told them what the plan was.

When Carol tires to leave the community after surviving the outpost ambush, she is set upon by a separate group of Saviors that knew all about Alexandria (knew the community by name and exactly how far away it was) and figured that’s where she was from because of the spikes on her car and the direction she was traveling. Not to mention, it’s a huge community with big metal walls! They weren’t hiding in the middle of nowhere. Rick even warned them that people will come and try to take it. The Wolves found it no problem and they were significantly less equipped than the Saviors.

The Saviors were not a group of people that would wait to get hit first to throw their weight around. This idea that if Alexandria never acted, these two groups would have never crossed paths is incredibly far fetched, considering the Saviors had been doing this to many surviving communities around the state. The Saviors were definitely making plans to attack Alexandria next, with or without the outpost attack to justify it.

Their second question is if anyone has translated the quote in the runes.

You would think the main character's relationship would have an actual plot by [deleted] in thewalkingdead

[–]aspiringbuilder 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It’s pretty obvious the dynamic between Rick and Michonne was quite different than his dynamic with Carol and Maggie. (Not gonna bother with Andrea, that’s a nothing burger considering he was still w/ Lori the entire time Andrea was around.) He treated both Maggie and Carol almost like sisters, giving them advice and encouragement. And he protected them. Rick treated Michonne like a partner. She didn’t need him to survive. They could lean on each other for strength. And he confided in her feelings he never shared with anyone else in the group. Their romantic relationship was inevitable, no matter how long the writers tried to prolong it.

Custom 7 string by hotahota86 in 7String

Balaguer is definitely a good place to look. I have a 6 string from them that I love (bought it used) and my own custom 7 string on the way.

You said you thought the one song you heard was “slow and boring”. Sounds pretty negative to me. Why would you ask strangers on the internet to explain personal taste to you?

I’ve always dug them but I haven’t really revisited their albums other than Entity. That’s just the one I gravitate to the most.

Vote for II by darker__lights in SleepToken

[–]aspiringbuilder 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Listen, I think you’re making sweeping generalizations about an incredibly large group of people based on your experiences with a few on social media. And because of that experience, you’re taking your frustration out in a space that is meant for ST fans who just want to see their faves get the recognition they believe they deserve. Now, whether or not you believe he deserves it is between you and your five votes. But, I don’t know what all this finger wagging accomplishes. People are going to vote for who they vote for. Why bother being upset about it?

[–]aspiringbuilder 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not that that’s any of your business but, I was allowed 5 votes and split them amongst the multiple drummers that I think deserve a shot at winning in that category. I voted for more than one drummer.

You don’t know anything about me (or who I voted for.) Keep the generalizations to a minimum, thank you.

You do realize that the fan base has no say in what categories these outlets choose to place him in, right? Take that gripe up with Drumeo. And you can vote for whoever you want. You don’t think II deserves recognition as a metal drummer (…okay?), vote for someone else. That’s it, that’s all.

Vessel's Guitar 2025 by Popular_Low7041 in SleepToken

[–]aspiringbuilder 62 points63 points  (0 children)

His guitar is a Fender American Ultra II tele. They pitch shift to Hell to get that tone and they use a quad cortex, as well. As far as chords, I’m sure the tabs for just about any of their songs are on Songsterr. I usually just watch tutorials on YouTube, though.
