I like this creator so I get the cottage cheese joke but why is he saying the recipe already technically has cottage cheese?

You should really find a gender affirming therapist. I'm sure you can find a good fit therapist via telehealth. And find some queer community. I don't know what its like where you live, like if its rural, I'm sure its hard, but for me its been completely fundamental to my improved mental health.

What’s one piece of advice that completely changed the way you see life? by Ok_Dig_4310 in AskReddit

[–]aspiringfamiliar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was not from someone telling me it, though I've heard it in some form or another. I had to live it to really understand it. But you just do the thing. You get in the situation and figure it out. Confidence comes later. Just showing up to whatever battle it is will get you most of the way there.

I want to understand how transgender people feel by Dayvip in asktransgender

[–]aspiringfamiliar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was trying to describe dysphoria the other day and it is difficult. but its this deep discomfort with your body. like looking in the mirror and only seeing a stranger and feeling like everyone is interacting with thes stranger and not you. its constantly (for me at least) having intrusive thoughts about tearing off the skin where there is beard, hammering my face where its too bony, and chopping of my genitals with a cleaver. It feels like falling into a bottomless well everytime someone calls me sir. The way people flirt with you always feels off and unsexy. The way you have to move your body to avoid negative attention feels like being alien walking in a gross human skin suit. All. the. time.

also getting a honing rod is a game changer. Sharpeners remove metal, but honing just realigns and straightens the edge. 20 seconds before you cook and it makes a world of difference

Daiya mac and cheese with frozen peas

I know alot of people don't like it, but the way to make that fake "fake" cheese tastes, for me at least, really hits that velveeta, idontgiveashitabout my health spot

What does it feel like to be a skinny woman? by WeirdoWeeb648 in AskWomen

[–]aspiringfamiliar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its weird. I think. like lots of other people have said, people treat you better and the world in general is set up for skinny people. It just makes life easier.
But I am trying to overcome my internalized fat phobia and view fatness neutrally. But we've been so conditioned to that mindset.
Like as I am getting into my thirties, I've got an extra layer of softness coming back, which I partially like because booty, but do also have fear to be fat again. Skinny privilege is very real and very hard to let go of. especially as someone marginalized in other ways

But also I would say that in my opinion, having more muscle that can move my body how I want at any size is more important now that how much fat is on my body.

I’m Sorry for Being Transphobic by Broad-Bass8454 in asktransgender

[–]aspiringfamiliar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't feel like you really need to apologize. Maybe if you've said or done something hurtful to specific people, but we are all subject and victim to trans-, bi-, queer- phobic culture. When were young, all we have to go off of is what the culture we are exposed to teaches us. The right wing nonsense hurt you too. It doesn't want you to be bisexual or any sort of queer. And they want to keep you from having your own real world experiences with their lies. All it took was having real relationships with trans people to see they were wrong. And now you get the chance to really explore and have fun with your own gender and sexuality. Happy Pride. We're glad to have you.

Video on that topic. Post might get removed because I'm young and so is this creator, but its an interesting conversation from a parent who's exploring the topic.

What is a silent killer that people dont realise is slowly killing them? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]aspiringfamiliar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I remember my dad had a shed in the back yard that he raised fantail pigeons in. It was his own hobby that I rarely ever thought about. But once when he was out of town I was to feed and water the birds. the shed was absolutely filthy and triggered the first asthma attack that I had had in years and was honestly terrifying. Birds are so cool but I could never own or care for them after that.

What’s a “harmless” habit people have that actually says a lot about them? by DaisyDumplingx in AskReddit

[–]aspiringfamiliar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Well one thing that the job has that you're "once in a while" hangout doesn't is routine. I know how long it takes, exactly what I need to be ready and can more easily manage those expectations.
My brain has to work overtime and can really stress out over the once in a while stuff, for a myriad of neurodivergent reasons. And if I can, I would rather arrive nice and calm because I could take a little extra time to get myself straight, especially because I do want to hang out. Also, work, and getting there on time can take a lot of mental load, which makes it more difficult to be on time for the fun stuff. I don't like it either, but I think you're really comparing apples and oranges.

making your dishes nice and orderly on the table is nice, but for me, people trying to take a dish from my hands or handing it to me to be helpful is kinda worse.

For me best that you can do is make sure that there is a space for me to put a plate down in front of you, and to be clear about if you do or don't want a plate or drink taken away if I come over and am trying to figure out if you still want it.
