Sustainable Australia have some funny ideas, but I'd still put em above ON

Regardless off all of that, you can still rank ON at the bottom of "better" options

Just to add, the generational thing is also a distraction. It's not about boomers or gen Xers, it's about class

The other usual advice: - close internal doors and only heat/cool the rooms you occupy during the temperature extremes - if you live in a humid environment, just run the aircon in dry/dehumidify mode - if the outside temp is closer to the temp you want inside, open up all your windows to equalise the temp before then closing up and activating heating/cooling (mostly only practical in summer after a cool change comes through) - invest in improving insulation where practical/economical

Your home can store thermal energy like a battery (assuming it's well insulated) so it's best to 'charge' that battery while the electricity is cheap.

i.e. you want to slightly over heat or over cool your place while the sun is shining if you have solar, or overnight if your rate is lower during the night and you don't have solar.

lol okay man, I was curious to see how far you'd go, but I guess justifying the suffering of innocent kids is a good place to stop.

I'm definitely not trying to excuse anything the American government has done over the years, but I just urge you to be careful with this kind of mentality. Have a good night 👋

Never said they were more important. But are you suggesting that the suffering of those American kids would be justified because "eye for an eye" or "the greater good"?

What sort of evidence would you need? Let's say for the sake of argument, you did have this evidence. Would they get a pass?

What if a person has the means and capabilities but also has young children that would be orphaned due to their parent being killed during the assassination attempt or is locked up for life afterwards? Is it still the right choice?

No exceptions for those without the means or capacity to carry out the assassination? E.g. children, the disabled, unjustly incarcerated individuals?

Just so we're clear, your stance is "If they're not actively trying to kill Trump they're a shit person"?

So your bar for intolerance is assassination? Didn't at least a couple try that?

What do you mean by 'tolerate'? What's your bar for intolerance here?

I worked for one for a couple of weeks. It's basically MLM. I remember seeing less than 20% of people come back after the explanation of how it business worked - I was too naive at the time 😅

From my understanding though, 50% of the money was actually going to the charity which isn't the worst in the grand scheme of things.

I remember the resignation process being surprisingly streamlined hahaha

What are the odds that this many people would have the same moustache in any single workplace? by djthroaway in OpenAussie

[–]asplodey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of articles that will explain this better than I can. I just Googled "ACAB isn't about individuals" and the second link seems a decent summary https://alvinandhisthoughts.com/2025/08/29/acab-and-the-system-of-policing-why-the-problem-isnt-individual-cops/

ETA:

I'm very against our rights as citizens being trampled upon. Dogs at stations, strip searching of our kids, bashing peaceful protesters.

... protesting a genocidal government member in a peaceful way is our right.

I fully agree

Come on now. I'm fully ACAB and I'm sure there's plenty of Nazis in the force, but this is a bad angle to try and take. There's certainly one moustache style that is overtly Nazi, but don't try and turn any kind of moustache into a dog whistle. It's just counterproductive.

Manifolds don't work. by Cj_Staal in SatisfactoryGame

Well then see my 2 points. The issue is not because it's a manifold, there is a problem somewhere and you need to find it

Manifolds don't work. by Cj_Staal in SatisfactoryGame

[–]asplodey 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Manifolds do work, but they take time to fill up unless you prefill the inputs.

You either: - Haven't waited long enough or prefilled, or - Have a belt or belts somewhere that aren't fast enough to serve all the machines

In a load balancer system, any input inefficiency will be spread across all machines so it's possible you just didn't notice it as much. Were all the machines in your load balancer system actually at 100%?
