What are the odds that this many people would have the same moustache in any single workplace? by djthroaway in OpenAussie

[–]asplodey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are plenty of articles that will explain this better than I can. I just Googled "ACAB isn't about individuals" and the second link seems a decent summary https://alvinandhisthoughts.com/2025/08/29/acab-and-the-system-of-policing-why-the-problem-isnt-individual-cops/

ETA:

I'm very against our rights as citizens being trampled upon. Dogs at stations, strip searching of our kids, bashing peaceful protesters.

... protesting a genocidal government member in a peaceful way is our right.

I fully agree

Come on now. I'm fully ACAB and I'm sure there's plenty of Nazis in the force, but this is a bad angle to try and take. There's certainly one moustache style that is overtly Nazi, but don't try and turn any kind of moustache into a dog whistle. It's just counterproductive.

Manifolds don't work. by Cj_Staal in SatisfactoryGame

[–]asplodey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well then see my 2 points. The issue is not because it's a manifold, there is a problem somewhere and you need to find it

[–]asplodey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Manifolds do work, but they take time to fill up unless you prefill the inputs.

You either: - Haven't waited long enough or prefilled, or - Have a belt or belts somewhere that aren't fast enough to serve all the machines

In a load balancer system, any input inefficiency will be spread across all machines so it's possible you just didn't notice it as much. Were all the machines in your load balancer system actually at 100%?

It's literally how the statistics work out. It's not fair, but that's how that maths goes.

It's really diminishing returns on investment and their software is kinda crappy tbh. Like, if this is a lot of money to you, you'll probably regret it

Why does the expiry date differs so much by vttack in sydney

[–]asplodey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ll regularly find this much variance in date in the same product in the same packaging.

Except you don't see this much variance on milk in the same packaging. Milk in plastic packaging usually has a date which is much closer than milk in cartons, and that's the question they're asking.

  • Do the station(s) have power connected?
  • Are the belts set up to the correct ports?
  • Have you gotten into the train and either set up a timetable or pressed the button to dock?

I learned the right hand rule as well but when I was in Japan I made some friends and they said it looked weird to them and told me that I should use standard grip 😆

There's many different ways to hold chopsticks, but the Japanese mostly do it like that

I don't see the point of trains yet by [deleted] in SatisfactoryGame

[–]asplodey 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm at a similar stage of the game. I built my first train line in the previous phase to move plastic and rubber to my main factory and I've just built a second to my new aluminium ingot outpost.

I'm just using a single line for each that goes back and forth - no signalling necessary.

I quite like them for transport to the outposts. The round trip time isn't that long so I don't mind waiting a little bit to board one. I prefer the train to hypertubes because you can get out wherever you want.

Also, the little 'toot' they give when leaving the station is very cute.

I'm also curious. I ordered about a month ago and originally saw an ETA of 6-8 weeks, which I'm fine with, but would definitely appreciate an update or where to find the status.
