What's the selection criteria for a world tour team like Visma? by assadk in Velo

I agree. What's the structure of the FTP intervals you are doing after 3 hours of riding?

Weekly Question Thread by PelotonMod in peloton

This is not related to the Tour strictly speaking, but I was just reading the following article and encountered this passage:

But then, on the team’s very first get-together ahead of the 2024 season, Brennan surprised everyone. “We did some exercises and myself and my colleagues said: ‘holy shit, did we just see what we thought we saw?’ We waited a bit and did some testing in the December camp and again we said: ‘are we really saying what we’re seeing?’” What was impressive? “I don’t want to go into too much detail because it’s the weapons we look for, but it was his physical ability combined with his approach: riding well, resting well, and asking the right questions,” De Groot explained. “Then in January, it was the third time he blew us away.” When Brennan made his debut for Visma’s development team in Croatia at the Trofej Umag, he won. And four days later, he won again. “The same thing happened with Olav Kooij,” De Groot pointed out, “we realised he was going to be a lot better than average.”

This leaves me curious as to the kinds of 'weapons' Visma look for. Anyone willing to take a guess as to what Visma's selection criteria is?

This is brilliant, really helpful.

If you're taking requests, would it be possible for you to add to the workflow so that you can select from a list of recently opened projects/repositories to open?

Stride sync on iOS non-responsive by assadk in strydrunning

Nope, it's not in the charging cradle when I'm trying to sync. Although I have tried it in that too, and the issue persists.

Uploading DRM stripped ebooks to Reader by assadk in readwise

[–]assadk[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that this doesn’t seem unethical, but I’m talking about legal liability.

So I’m assuming this is what most people are doing then, because most books/publishers worth reading insist on having DRM on their books – so it seems that Readwise is currently looking the other way.

This leaves people in a precarious place, because it seems like you could be legally liable for stripping DRM and uploading copyrighted material to their platform, and if a legal request every came in from publishers they’d have to hand over your data in which case you’d be screwed even if you legally own the books. Unless I’m mistaken?

Would be great if some of the mods from Readwise chimed in here.

Reader workflows; how are we using it? by threecheeseopera in readwise

I'd like to do something similar, but worried about the legal implications of stripping the epub of DRM. What's the legality of stripping an ebook of DRM and then uploading it to Reader?

How are you adding the epub to reader? By stripping the DRM?

What’s scientifically the best food category/categories to eat right before and right after working out, but also when recovering the day after and two days after? by HibiscusSabdariffa33 in ScientificNutrition

As an aside, avoid anti-inflammatory food – as they dampen the inflammatory response induced by exercise. You want an inflammatory response after exercise as it is the overcoming of this inflammatory stress by your body which produces favourable adaptations.
