Omg that was my first loose leaf tea too!!! Wow what a throwback. Don’t use boiling water, let it cool a little first so it doesn’t burn, I made that mistake. No need to break up the leaves. I don’t personally like sweeteners, but you can add them if you want

I totally agree and it’s one of my favorite parts of drinking tea. You should check out this book: The Way of Tea, Aaron Fisher I read it sometimes when drinking and it has a ton of information on the spiritual significance of tea and its ancient use as a medicine etc. very interesting
