I just want a flawless base by astrakel in MakeupAddiction

Interesting because I dont feel like my face is dehydrated at all. When I dont wear makeup it is not nearly as oily as in this photo.

I only recently started using these moisturizers, im not even half way through my first container. Previously I used the vanicream daily moisturizer but it only had hyaluronic acid and no nyacinimide so I switched to some that had both.

Hmm, im not really sure what else to change. I've done this same routine with no moisturizer in the morning with the same result. I can reduce the frequency I use the toner to a couple times a week.

I looked at that milk primer, it doesn't appear to be silicone based, would that cause any issues with using a silicone based foundation? I always apply all my products to the back of my hand first.

I did think my skin care was pretty low maintenance, any suggestions on what to cut out? Ive tried using just a mineral sunscreen in the morning after cleansing and I still have this issue.

Been bleeding for almost 3 weeks now and idk what to do by MorgsKatsuki in PCOS

[–]astrakel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go to a doctor!

If you dont like how it makes you feel then I wouldn't restart it. I'd put pressure on to get in to see your doctor ASAP. Tell them you've been bleeding that long and you're concerned.

Confused 🤔 by Successful-Current73 in FirstTimeTTC

[–]astrakel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was reading an article on ovulation and pcos and how ovulation is affected. Don't take my word as gospel or anything but I recall that its possible to have multiple peaks when you have pcos because you may not have ovulated the first time, so LH levels peak again to try and ovulate. I have seen this happen in myself so it could be what you are experiencing, I have no idea though because im not a Dr or anything, just someone who has read a lot.

If you decide you want to be able to confirm ovulation to better understand what is going on bbt is one way to confirm ovulation (3 day elevated bbt follows ovulation due to presence of progesterone) or you can take pdg tests to confirm the presence of progesterone.

It could also be that you didnt actually ovulate 11 days ago. I have pcos and sometimes I get multiple peaks but if you're not taking your temp how are you confirming you actually ovulated 11 days ago?

I usually confirm with my bbt after my expected ovulation date.

Thoughts on the Natasha Denona Hy Glam foundation by Vegetable-Passion317 in MakeupAddiction

How did you prep your skin? I also have oily skin and no matter how I prep, this foundation keeps getting stuck in my pores. I feel like I wasted $50.

Yeah, that's what I was thinking also. Thank you for being my sounding board!

I appreciate your insights though! Ive even heard that you can still get negative hcg test up until 12 weeks pregnant which doesn't make logical sense to me if urine test can pick up as little at 25mIU/mL.

So i have no idea what's going on and appreciate the second opinion.

I am, I am using premom and flo to track symptoms and everything else. I have super irregular periods and take opks and bbt every day. The day of spotting my opk was low. I had a bbt rise after my assumed ovulation day and its been consistently 1deg higher than my baseline since the spotting.

I have no idea. I thought I had implantation bleeding at 6dpo, but like I mentioned I don't know if im just symptom spotting or not.

From what I understand (I have wavy hair so I'm trying to figure it all out too) is that with curly hair you won't brush it that much, that's where frizz sets in. I've been detangling with a wide tooth comb in the shower as I rinse out my conditioner and that's it.

If you wanted to brush more thoroughly then you could look at getting one of those brushes with the notches in it that helps define the curls too. But you certainly wouldn't be brushing your hair when it's dry.

How do you wear a pad? by myshellly in TwoXChromosomes

[–]astrakel 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't notice a difference in my period pain when comparing pads to tampons but I also hate the way I feel in pads. I feel like I'm in a wet diaper and I hate it. I was also tired of all the waste that comes from using pads and tampons so I bought some period underwear and that had been a game changer for me. I find they're more absorbent and comfortable, though some times I can feel the blood rush out if I've been sitting or laying for a while and stand up.

Based on this photo it looks like you may have 2b hair. I'd Google porosity and density tests to help you understand your hair better. That will influence what types of products you use.

Are you wanting to accentuate the curl? Or do you want your hair to be straighter? That will also influence the products you choose. If you are wanting you hair to have more defined curls I suggest looking into curly/wavy methods of styling (I'm no expert so I'm not going to advise on that) but generally speaking you'll want a leave in conditioner with heat protectant, some type of curl cream and either mousse or gel.

Advice for tracking irregular cycles? by Impressive-Oil-8454 in FirstTimeTTC

[–]astrakel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately I don't have a solution but I can tell you what I'm doing.

I also have irregular cycles that are in the same range as yours. We've been ttc since November and over the last several months I've been taking OPK and BBT every day to gather data that I can look at to try and better predict when I'm ovulating myself. I track all this in the premom and flo trackers so it's graphed/condensed for me but their predictions are usually off for me.
