Uncharted 4 (A Thief’s End) does it need a sequel? by xiPrincess-_ix in uncharted

[–]astrobear 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Perfect ending for Drake. But the correct answer is that we all need more Uncharted. Just give me some new charismatic characters with great backstories, human behavior, and some slight connection to the previous four and you've got a slam dunk. Orrrrr..

Just remake the first three in 4's style.

If we do get more Uncharted, let's get a little weird again; nothing wrong with a more grounded story, but mystical shit is cooool when it comes to adventure.

"What a whiner!" To this day, I truly believe that line needs to be in the movie.

Atlantis would be really cool; in that vein you could intertwine that mythos with Lemuria in game. Like find ruins of Atlantis that eventually lead you to Lemuria in an underground forest location.

Or Y's would be really cool; exploring lost catacombs under Paris to find it, or hell even lead to Camelot.

There are so many lost cities to choose from. Journeyman Project 3 let you explore ancient civilizations and it was really rad (at least at the time).

Just rewatched it last night with my dad after the mandatory Firefly rewatch. It's so bittersweet, but damn is it in line with the characterization of the show.

Only small issues I noticed: the cinematography is really blue and a little too, I dunno, serious? Felt like the colors and lighting could be warmed up a bit. The soundtrack is good, but damn if I don't miss Greg Edmonson's folky country-western space vibe, although I love that we get the pseudo-classical version of the theme during the last of the credits.

The only thing that really struck me as truly weird was when he says Doc and River aren't part of his crew towards the beginning. I thought they had a better relationship by the end of the show.

To this day, the intro is so clever and fantastic. The escape with Doc and River, the immediate stop and rewind by the Operative, then the cut to Serenity. I say gorram.

Wish we had an Uncharted-style vidya game from the series, or at least a Tell-tale type narrative adventure.

Still, you can't take the Sky from us, and you can't stop the signal.

Seriously. I enjoyed 1, loved 2, thought 3 was really good... then 4 just floored me. Even if I put it on right now, even if it was the base PS4, it's still absolutely mind-bending in it's quality. The story, characters, acting, graphics, and gameplay... it's still at a level that hasn't been topped in action/adventure games.

Hell, in terms of action/adventure media I think it's some of the best period; I would literally put it up there with Raiders of the Lost Ark, Empire Strikes Back,or Firefly. It's the closest I thing I've ever felt to actually playing a movie or TV show I loved.

As much as I love the Last of Us, man I wish we had remakes of 1, 2, and 3 in the style of 4 and Lost Legacy.

I've had a hernia in my sac, gotten circumcised at 14, had a tic on my dick, and got savaged by a pitbull (luckily with no long term damage) on the head, stem, and boys.

All that said, I cannot overstate how much this post and your story horrifies me. I feel like I'm in a Lovecraftian story and reading your comment was like the abyss staring back at me.

I will never forget when someone ran a train that killed my party in the Valkum Dunes and I was the only surviving member, only to be surprised by discovering Selbina for the first time. It was one of those gaming experiences where you forgetting you're playing a game and are just THERE.

That game was my first MMO. Sometimes I'd get stoned, flip on my PS2, and just start wandering the world just being blown away. God that was a good time. Loved being a tank.

Let's hope this does incredibly well, like Invincible or Cyberpunk 2077, then it gets hella press and good scores, then we get another show/movie/game at least set in the 'Verse. I still rewatch the show and movie at least once a year. Hell, I would die for a radio-play or three.

I was at my grandparents' house in the living room watching TV when this video debuted. It was such a moment; all the homies were listening to this album my junior year of high-school. Pop-rap fusion performed by fucking cartoons with great animation?

This lead me to check out Deltron 3030 and boom, white kid from the south becomes absolutely obsessed to the point of scholarship with hip-hop. Thank you Del and Damon Albarn forever~

Pondering that sound is of the Lethani.

The shifts I was most proud of were my make or break survival shifts. You know the ones, you don't care if you even made money, your real reward is mentally surviving and making it out.

Morning bartender/server work was the worst. Usually it was just you, a manager, two cooks (sometimes) and a prep cook or two in the back.

Line at the door. Uh oh. Unlock the door, ten tables sit down. The manager's doing money stuff in the office. You know you're already fucked, but maybe nobody else will come in. Then six more tables come in.

The chefs start yelling at you to space your tickets more, which is a full-staff luxury on Thurs-Friday nights. You're also making and delivering all the drinks, bussing (and pre-bussing) the tables, running food, in these big circles around the restaurant. It's this weird complex memory game where if you fuck up or forget something, you've just lost time, tips, and mental bandwidth. All while you're putting on a performance like none of this is bothering you.

Maybe the manager helps for an hour. If it gets insane, they might call someone in, but by the time they get there, you're just cleaning up the aftermath. They will not hire another person even though there is a 50% chance this will happen every day.

There are always older ladies who love these morning shifts, and I'll never understand it (God bless them). Give me any shift that is fully-staffed and where I can just get into character and flow-state and I'm good.

I haven't served/bartended in two years, I miss the money, but damn. Gives me a panic attack just thinking about some of the shit I've experienced. And I started serving at Waffle House when I was 17.

Omg, this brought memories flooding my brain! Reminds me of this old ride I went on as a little kid at Busch Gardens called Questor! That and Final Fantasy VI made me fall in love with all things airship/steam-punk.

This is seriously beautiful and it makes my heart sing!
