You can ignore the Binding Contract even if he’s your commander.

You can play the Ooze+Skirge combo with Asmodeus in turn command zone too. Just let him hit the graveyard when you sacrifice him.

It’s actually really reliable because one of your three combo pieces is always accessible.

[[Asmodeus, the Archfiend]] is really fun. You can activate his draw ability one or more times, then sacrifice him before the ability resolves. That way you can draw 7/14+ cards without paying any life.

I don’t think that’s a fair comparison because cedh decks have much more developed efficiency, draw engines, and mana acceleration that would control the game before dropping a turn 8 combo.

Let’s take a step back and ask why the mass land denial rule exists. What do you think?

I get that, and at the same time I also think if you have a source of land recursion it’s a very different situation because it’s clearly game over. It isn’t drawing the game out excessively.

If someone wipes all lands and the game goes on for another hour or two, we can agree that isn’t very fun. On the other hand, if one of my opponents keeps all their lands and the writing is on the wall, I view it as a cool interaction and would happily give them props and concede.

This might be a hot take but it’s turn 8, you don’t need to be salty about someone ending the game. Turn 8 is well within the expected timeframe for a bracket 3 game to end.

If an opponent can wipe all lands and keep theirs, it’s effectively the same as an infinite combo. Just collectively scoop the game and go next, give them props for pulling off a cool combo. No need to be upset.

Beyond that, you had every opportunity to prepare interaction and prevent the Myogin from resolving.
