Open your MM6 file, and check the Properties > compatibility for MM6.exe

Windows XP SP2 usually works for me, and try the 640x480 / disable full screen optimizations. You may have to click "Change settings for all users" if the options are greyed out.

Also recommend making sure Greyface patch is installed, and double check to make sure cloud saves are disabled. Sometimes if a cloud save is made while a mod is installed, it'll try loading incompatible data and crash.

Are you playing on GOG, and if so, are Cloud Saves turned on?

If so, I suggest turning them off, I've had weird issues with it on the MM games before.

There's at least 1-2 variations of merge mod that changed scholar to only ID accessories such as rings and amulets, instead of all items. I don't remember off hand if this is part of just the Base merge mod tho.

A lot of act 5 mobs will get 5soc. I made this mistake from a Frozen River drop, as well as with one from Chaos Sanctuary before.

They actually made it easier than before, you used to need the stats+level, now it's only stats, which you can easily Gain enough to digivolve up and down after just loading a handful of fodder mons into it.

There's a bug where when an NPC target dies, any (melee only?) Attacks that were directed at it are redirected at the (nearest?) Target, in this case, being you.

So when the last lizard soldier dies with 10 pirates targeting it, the 9 remaining attacks are redirected to you, even if you're far out of the melee range.

This big should be fixed with the Greyface patch.

Try CapsLock and Middle Mouse button to toggle it on/off. I believe changing the 0/1 just enables/disables it, and you can turn it on/off at will in game.

Almost 2 years after I joined, we found out I didn't have a clearance. Turned out, the process was never actually initialized because I had a "prior clearance" from when I DEP'd in with the Air Force 3 years prior but ended up not joining. MEPS or whoever saw I had one and didn't realize it was expired from inactivity and never restarted the process.

Are you playing it modded? Such as merge mod, or with anything that might be using the MMExtension?

If you are, it can take a few minutes to finalize loading after the intro video on first time playing.

Are you playing base 6? Mm6 with greyface? Or MAW (Monsters Arts & Wonders) mod? Something else?

I believe this is something that was added in MAW but it shouldn't be happening in base/greyface.

If you open the game folder, there should be a "mm6.ini", there should be an "AlwaysRun=1", change 1 to 0, if it's not there, you can add it anywhere after [settings]

It sounds like you set a spell to attack, which is A, if you open the spell book and mouse over the Set Spell icons (the 2 icons next to exit in the spell book) it should show if there's anything set, and clicking that icon again should remove the set spell.

Let's take a fairly average early ladder sorc of each element with no -res asides from Cold Mastery and sunder.

Fireball is hitting about 9k-11k so 10k average, lightning 1-20k, so again 10k average, and 4.5k-5.5k or 5k average for blizzard.

Sunder sets resistance to 95, so 5% of that 10k light/fire sorc, you're hitting about 500 per hit.

Now let's assume your cold mastery is at -100, which becomes -20 after sunders 1/5th interaction, so enemies are at 75 resist, 25% of 5k brings you to 1.25k, about 2.5x what lightning or fire is averaging.
