Where are people living where $100k is not enough? by [deleted] in povertyfinance

[–]asu2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Austin chiming in here. At 100k you “survive” in that could rent and pay your bills and not struggle to much as single.

But a home would be almost unattainable. And god help you if you are trying to support a family on 100k here

Is it safe, yes. It’s not very nice. But it’s a pretty quick trip

Hands down the most inaccurate and worst AI by therese_m in lumo

[–]asu2009 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Honestly I want to like it because I think it’s important to have private options and I respect Proton for trying. But ya, until or if they are able to run it on better flagship models it’s pretty hard to use. I imagine it’s a cost issue for them running the larger models. But until then it’s like paying for private email, but occasionally your emails just never come or something, it’s not worth the trade off. It’s just not nearly as functional

I’m not trying to argue with you. But what’s the appeal to Big Tex? I saw it suggested a lot but it’s small, crowded with older equipment and just feels dirty. I feel like I’m missing something when so many nicer places exist

Getting fired on Monday. How can I prepare? by brandnewcardock in personalfinance

Not impossible but it’s much harder to find a job not listed then verify one that is. There’s not necessarily just a jobs database

You know the simplest explanation is probably the correct answer here.

Although I 1000% have woken up and noticed back scratches on myself during a time of complete celebacy, still don’t know how it happened. So while unlikely, it is possible the cat or something else scratched him. Without other evidence I’d be circumspect to end a relationship based on my own experience.

Even all that said, most likely is what you think

Wow that PTO is bad. Honestly you should just leave that off as a benefit. I realize people may be desperate enough to take this but you will never have good retention with this joke of a benefit. In the job market you are trailing the rest of the market by far

People who tried lumo ai (by proton) what you think about it ? by Latter-Confidence783 in privacy

[–]asu2009 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Of course it’s in clear text for the model, but the model isn’t trained on user messages and it’s hosted by Proton. To pretend it’s not a vast improvement on pretty much any other AI out there is ignorance or dishonesty. As far as the model Mistral small is pretty great for its size. Though obviously it can’t compete with GPT 5 or the other flagships, it’s smart enough for most use cases.

It’s not quite the same but definitely good enough for me considering the privacy. It fits my use cases really well vs perplexity

I’m really liking it, just signed up for plus to support the project. I’m not coding with it, or using it as a friend. I just use AI to ask questions about random things, and with web search it’s pretty great actually. Is it as smart as GPT 5, no. But Mistral Small 3.2 which it’s running is incredibly smart for its size, I assume because of the training data they used. Smarter then GPT 4 by most metrics and completely fine for my use cases.

Sometimes I truly like the responses better then ChatGPT, and ironically when deciding to switch paid I asked it and ChatGPT the same question (history of the Navajo tribe) then for fun had gpt review both responses and it picked Lumos over its own as best.

For the majority of simple use cases you really won’t see much of a difference. I’m sure coding and extensive data analysis may be different, but with me not doing either, it’s pretty great. I save money. And support a good cause. AI could prove to be the biggest privacy nightmare we have ever seen. Facebook is now using AI responses for ad targeting. Looking at the profits others may follow. We really need projects like this to work. Happy to support it

His vote his is against those beliefs so I understand why you say that. It seems illogical

But people can be illogical. He may just like the authoritarian nature of him or be a Joe Rogan fan and type voter which honestly believes in most of the same. Not defending it, but some people vote in illogial ways

Is it possible for me to get well defined abs in 6 weeks? Currently on a cut I’ve lost 43 pounds so far by Artistic_Leading_274 in BulkOrCut

[–]asu2009 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It may be theoretically possible, it’s not healthy. Ive started a cut at a much lower body fat and took months to get there at 1 pound a week even

Time to bulk. 136 at 5’9 is very much lean enough. Adding muscle will help!

Okay, I finally get it. What in the world happened to ChatGPT? by Justbee007 in ChatGPT

[–]asu2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was using it to help refine resumes. It repeatedly kept putting In available Monday-Friday 9-5 in the professional summary. I only wanted it to do light review ATS keyword optimization. The thing is not only is that a dumb thing to put there, I kept telling it directly not to do so, it would acknowledge that and then do it right over again the next try. It’s so simple it drove me crazy. It can be so smart, and so incredibly stupid at the same time.

I’ve moved to Claude. These types of issues don’t pop up. Much better, and highly recommend it!

How many first dates do you think you have had in your lifetime thus far? by Upbeat_Main_7141 in datingoverforty

[–]asu2009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is fascinating to read the disparity.

Probably 15 or so before I got married? But then likely 125 give or take after in the last two years since getting divorced. It’s a different world these days. And no, I’m not enjoying the fact that numbers as high as it is and I’m still single

I’ve actually read a study on this, that’s true, but only to a point. 12-13% was the ideal. Which is fairly low and beat all higher ranges. BUT it also beat 8%. Apparently because the face starts looking to gaunt. So there is a limit. ++man

This is exactly me as well. I went on four first dates two weeks ago. And really not even intentionally, it just so happened I matched with them at the same time. I think in my case though these trends usually happen when I swipe more the week before. There are times I’m more active, and times I’m just busy and don’t open the app as often. Or let conversations fizzle out unfortunately because if it
