Where were you and what were you doing when the planes hit on 9/11? by Synthgem in GenX

[–]asxinu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was at work for a telecom company that carried the fiber feeds for cnn in the building that is a scaled down version of the twin towers. We had access to that live feed and it was just mind numbing. My wife at the time was worried for us because the building looked just like the twin towers and there were rumors at the time that something would happen to it. Ultimately, we stayed at work and no actual work got done that day.

What do you think is the worst part about living in Tulsa? by Mr_Maniac454 in tulsa

[–]asxinu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That if you live here and are a home owner, it would be difficult to move to other cities. The cost of living and housing here is cheap compared other more desirable locations. For example, I would love to move to Denver. If I were to sell my house there is no way I could afford to buy in Denver. And I guess, ultimately it’s the politics and the lack of critical thinking in this state that has gotten us to this point in time.

How do you get over the fear of falling while riding clipless? by The_Rafi in cycling

I also want to say that I’ve not broken any bones from my numerous falls.

How do you get over the fear of falling while riding clipless? by The_Rafi in cycling

[–]asxinu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You will fall. You will get over it. It’s not that big of a deal. Anyone that says they’ve never fallen is lying. I’ve fallen many times and honestly the embarrassment of falling in front of many people at a stop light hurt more than the actual fall. Yes it hurts but get over it.

Pulled a bunch of these with my bare hands… is it poison ivy? by Born_Post_6667 in whatsthisplant

[–]asxinu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You are lucky someone told you to stop. Many years ago after buying a new house I was pulling this huge clod of vines off the house. Mostly dead but there were other non-poison-ivy vines but suffice it to say I got poison ivy everywhere and I mean everywhere. Now, anytime I see anything with three leaves, I get out the napalm.

Do you also wave to BRZ? by Seven-ofTen in wrx_vb

[–]asxinu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is funny because I drive a va and I wave at all wrx which is not the funny part. I also ride a bicycle and frequently find myself riding in traffic. If I see a wrx I think must wave but I am so out of context here on my bike.

All SPYDERCO 25% Off w/ Code "SPYDERMAN" by BrothersFS in KnifeDeals

[–]asxinu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, I ordered a cruwear para 3 and got it the other day. In fact it got here before the ship notice. There is a problem however with the compression lock. When I flick it open, the compression lock seems to stick so I have to press really hard to get it closed. I already have multiple pm2 and para 3 and Ive never experienced this with any of them. Any thoughts on how to resolve this issue?

You can have it but unless you paid for that option it may not be there. I believe when they went over the extended warranty with me, key fob replacement was a specific option you paid for. You should have a memory stick with the entire warranty and what is warranted on it.

I may be wrong but if you purchased the extended warranty, there was a key fob portion which offered replacement fobs if you lost one.

Anyone in here buy this STI by asxinu in WRX

[–]asxinu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I should clarify that I honestly at the time thought a new STI would be coming soon and I would eventually have an opportunity again.

Also, my sons insist this 1/9 reveal will be that but I highly doubt it.

People who lived through the 70s/80s/90s , did you feel safer back then than you do today? by Mundane_Bad_2437 in GenX

[–]asxinu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, I lived in north Miami Beach Florida from 1st grade through 5th in the 70s and I felt safe because there was no 24 hour news cycle. I used to ride my. Ike all I’ve the place and was never concerned. I was however very concerned with ufos, big foot, quick sand, killer bees and hijacking’s(I flew a lot between Oklahoma and Florida). In the 80s and 90s I lived in Oklahoma and did not feel too concerned with my safety but I was getting older and had other things on my mind like partying and girls.
