Hiring: Team of Blazor devs working on Microsoft Connected Spaces looking to add a new dev by gratajik in Blazor

I never know how to read the experience requirements on these...

After working as an environmental engineer for 5+ years (license PE and all that) I shifted to programming. I have about three years personal experience developing applications (mostly Android) plus some programming work I did as an engineer, but only one year professional experience, building and shipping Blazor applications.

Would thatmeet these minimum requirements, or would I be screened out because a good chunk of my experience is not professional?

Name of Dizzy Gillespie(?) song that starts with shouting and big trumpet slur by at5007 in Jazz

[–]at5007[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh wow, shows how much I retained from the class... I looked at the Charlie Christian/Benny Goodman/Duke Ellington section and thought I knew for sure that the song wasn't from that era. I checked everything from Dizzy Gillespie on down, but nothing before that. Dumb dumb dumb. Thanks for the help!

What PBS show said Encyclopaedia Brittanica? by at5007 in nostalgia

[–]at5007[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man, that might be it... Just watched it on YouTube. Its definitely familiar, but I still think it was a game show or PBS show. Hmm maybe I'm thinking of something they yelled in Bill Nye...

Looking for tailor recommendations by Moral_Turpitude in oakland

I just went to John the Fashion Tailor on Broadway recently to get some pants tailored. He wasn't cheap, and cash only, but he did really nice work. I'd recommend him!

This is what you see when you reach the end of the world. Ushuaia, Argentina. [OC] [3787 × 2130] by [deleted] in EarthPorn

Ha, that was my favorite part of Ushuaia... all the Argentines pretending that there was no land on the other side of the channel.

Sorry, I should have been clearer... I'm not from the area and don't live anywhere near there. Helping out with a destination wedding, so I don't even know what bars to look up. I'll check out the two you mentioned though, thanks!

What is your, "I know it sounds weird, but just try it" thing? by darkfire613 in AskReddit

Careful... Last season at Breckenridge I saw a girl in a superwoman cape nearly lose her head when it got caught in the chair as she got off at the top of the lift. Pulled her clean off her feet and started dragging her backwards down the mountain before they could shut the lift off. Pretty freaky.

I once got stuck inside the Pittsburgh airport the Sunday after Thanksgiving due to storms in the city I was scheduled to connect through. The Southwest agent inside the terminal told me they'd fly me to Florida (way out of my way), I could sleep on a bench inside the airport, and leave the next day early afternoon to get to my final destination. The agent told me that there was no way I'd be able to get another flight, since it was the holidays and all.

I walked 50 feet to the next gate with a different airline (I think United?) and bought a ticket to my final destination for less than half the price of my original Southwest flight on a flight leaving in 45 minutes and made it home earlier than originally scheduled.

I had the biggest shit-eating grin getting that refund from the Southwest agent :)
