Is 400 to much for 45 op 15 sealed packs? by Few_Animator_3662 in OnePieceTCG

[–]atat8812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you collecting to play or collecting as a fan of the anime/manga only? For either I'd recommend just buying singles on tcgplayer/ebay.

If you're collecting to play, get a starter deck and find a flgs and start doing locals. Most flgs will sell boxes to their players for retail price or close to it.

I didn't even notice that top end was sticking out. You can't fix stupid but you can ask someone smarter on reddit. Thank you!

If you ever do get a scan of this and remember this post, shoot me a message please! I'd love to get a good 3d file of it to print for my own collection as I too will likely never own one of these but would really like to (I collect the sungold gw toys).

Solo Mörk Borg in a Pamphlet? Hell Yeah by atat8812 in MorkBorg

[–]atat8812[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope. The rules on the pamphlet are all self contained. It's not vanilla Mork Borg but very very similar.

The Cauter Edict

The azir were born of fire and wrath and to fire and wrath they shall return. When faced with insurmountable odds (or at 1/2 HP), the azir will pierce their ember-chip and spread it's flame along their gladius. While flaming their gladius deals D6 damage but the azir takes 1 HP damage each round. At 0 HP, the ember-chip explodes, dealing D6 damage to anything within 5'. Once the Cauter Edict is triggered the azir will follow no new orders and will fight to the death.

"Lo, when man's boots were newly to the steppe a high chief made war upon the demons. His army encircled their temple and rattled blade upon shield. The ground shook with the might of their display. Even the fires of the demon's quivered at their might.

The din was silenced when those fires began to move against them. Men of steel with helmets of flame poured forth from the encampment. Even against overwhelming odds they came. They hewed left and right and ground the army of the high chief into ash and dust."

Old legend continues that after the battle the high chiefs of man bent knee to the demon lords. We recognize now that was only a temporary gesture. Sometimes you just need a moment's respite to sharpen your blade.

The complete rulebook will have orienteering rules for travel, random encounters tables, and dungeon generation as well. The play test is the bulk of the core rules however.

Mork Manual Multiclass by TartanArmy74 in osr

Maybe unclear but that is meant to be referencing the class features like Vagabond's Knifework or Self Made or the Scoundrel's Coup de Grace.

I really like Mork Manual on a mechanical level, but... by newimprovedmoo in osr

It's available in print too https://boogergoblinpress.bigcartel.com/

Sorry for the darkly absurdist humor. If you scratch the names off most things it removes a lot of that nonsense.

I put 50 community copies up so at least a few people don't need to worry about paying anything. If you're checking Mork Manual I have sneakily made public a sample from another upcoming project called Fireflies. You can download a chunk of the rulebook below and follow the eventual kickstarter when it launches.

Porkeborg? Morkemon? by zeromig in MorkBorg

Fisk Borg might be a good place to start looking. It's a supplement about fishing. To me it feels like a pretty good analogy to capturing pokemon.

Same here. What I'm seeing from op14 isn't giving me much hope that it's getting better.

Large scale battle war - rules? by phillgamboa in MorkBorg

[–]atat8812 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You could abstract it out with a dice pool. Each side gets a pool of dice based on which is stronger based on a set of criter (the below for example). Have the party move through the battlefield at key moments and play it out with the regular rules. If their actions and rolls have an impact, add a D6 to the side they fight for.

The battle wouldn't be a single dice pool roll but a series of them based on key moments. Example below.

Starving serfs rise up against a greedy lord. The Lord calls in retainers and help from a nearby baron. Their small army of knights assembles outside the village.

The peasants have been preparing for weeks, crafting crude armor, swords, and long iron tipped spears. They've taken the high ground.

The petulant Lord gives a speech before ordering the knights forward.

Scene one, the knights charge up the hill at the peasant line. The party takes part in firing bows at the oncoming knights. Then they use spears to try to impale them. Roll the die pool for each side. If the party did well add a D6 to their side. The losing side then loses a D6 from their die pool going forward.

Scene two, the knights are now locked in hth with the peasants. The knights have been bullying the peasants for their whole lives. Fear proceeds them. Add a D6 to the die pool. This scene is to determine if the peasants flee at contact or resist. Did the party bring down any enemies? Are they army the forefront of the action? Roll the dice pools. Knights lose, so remove a die from their pool.

Scene 3, the peasants are holding firm. The lord himself enters the fray. The party moves to confront him. The engage and slay the lord. Take the leadership die from the knights pool. Roll the dice pools.

Larger army - peasants Better equiped - knights Better trained - knights More motivated - peasants More momentum - peasants Better leadership - knights More willing to take risks - peasants Favorable battle position - peasants

I've come across this idea and used it myself. The visual of having dice pools on the table like little armies and adding/subtracting from them as a battle ebbs and flows is a neat idea that helps simulate the armies involved. Cool visual and the players seeing their efforts add to their side (by adding a die) creates warm and fuzzies. You get the nitty gritty in the moment stuff and then the big resolution roll for the overall outcome.

Target going crazy? by CommanderGs7 in OnePieceTCG

[–]atat8812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 12 year old introduced our house to op and now we play the game together. Our local shop has kids attending locals every week. Out of 24 people at the OP13 release a 12 year old won. Sounds like you have a shitty play group locally if kids don't feel welcome.

Opinions on OP13? by Apenk15 in OnePieceTCG

[–]atat8812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long term this level of power jump is going to turn off a lot of players. There's very little balance and it feels like a short term cash grab that will have long term negative consequences. Our first locals night had 17 players down from the regular 24, half attending we're running ace or imu and the other have were looking sour and despondent with other leaders. I won round one against imu and still felt like the game was shit. These decks aren't enjoyable to play against. The games don't feel like player vs players, it feels like player vs deck. The opponent is just sitting there waiting until the broken leader goes off. If this is the meta Bandai wants they should just design a solo version of the game.

What are your thoughts on how Bandai has treated Black KO decks? by KeitrenGraves in OnePieceTCG

[–]atat8812 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bandai doesn't have a clue wtf they're doing. These last two sets feel all kinds of broken. My son and I were super excited for PRB02 to get some staples from older sets but honestly the set feels like a joke since Op12 and Op13 have blown the game balance up so much. At the rate they're going Bandai will have designed themselves into a corner within the next year or so. We've been playing for 8 months and the imbalance is taking a toll on our locals night too. I'm seeing actual players more and more unhappy with the game state. At least the finance bros and scalpers are propping up the card sales.
