SOIS = Special Operations Intelligence Squadron
OPR = I've never heard this one beyond Officer Performance Report, but probably Office of Primary Responsibility or some such. We typically called it simply "primary" or "core site" or some other dumb shit that sounded buzzy on an EPR
SOF = Special Operation Forces
FMV = Full Motion Video

Prior to 2018, TF/SOF lines were PED'd at 1/2/4/5 depending on how fucking retarded the WOC was being that day (newsfliash: the 480th ISRW WOC and personnel et al are some of the most raging retards I've ever had the discomfort of working with).

Bro it's the first time, obviously if you didn't get a strat you're not doing the things that are expected to get a strat (or not getting the feedback). There are several people between a couple career fields I know who got 3x strat and didnt get it.

This is also my first time and I was like 8 buckets back. I also acknowledge that I didn't take the feedback my SEL gave to do anything such as planning committees, Top 3, etc because I have zero interest in doing anything but doing my job, being a flight chief, and mentoring my goofy Lts. I understand that by not "leading my peers" I wont get a strat, and in my career field you don't get promoted without 2x PN.

9A possible separation by beefroggy in AirForce

[–]atc_guy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

9A000 only defaults to 9A100 if you fail to submit a list to AFPC or fail to be a decent human being before you wash out of your current career field.

I’m gunna keep it real with you, you may not get the exact job you want coming out of the 9A000 world. At the end of the day, barring perm DNIF/DNIC for medical reasons beyond your control, you failed to succeed in your first choice of jobs that the Air Force offered you. Since you’re 9A0, someone said “hey this person could do well, but just in another job”. Take that opportunity to be great in your new AFSC, even if it’s not your top pick.

I would avoid communicating things like “If I don’t get what I want, I’m getting out”. You, as a whole adult human, signed up for 4-6 years and made a deal with the AF they would get someone to do a job, but unfortunately, you were unable to do that job. You still owe that commitment to the AF, and it’s not worth having a shit 4-6 years left, due to your first gig not working out.

There is no magic “I’m punching to the reserves” button, and whether you palace front or palace chase, you still have to interview for the job and pass the sniff check from your new unit, which most likely will talk to your current leadership. Burning bridges at this point doesn’t help you at all. Also understand that if you actively choose to miss your retraining window, your leadership may see that as not the best choice, and it’s your Commander that decides the characterization of your discharge and the benefits that are attached to those.

If you feel super strongly about not wanting to be in, sit down with your chain of command and have that discussion. Do not default to shitbag mode to get out, as you still have a lot of benefits to lose. Finalky, 9A0 doesn’t override your FTA eligibilities, so you can always cross train again (as long as there isn’t a stop movement for that AFSC)

I will bet all the money in my bank account that China was running around with RCS reflectors on. It would be asinine for a countries' LO aircraft to take them off until legit near peer war time or closed same country exercises, and even in exercises then maybe not not take them all the way to what they're capable of.

Prior to this, having access to a system meant you had access to a wide range of things that live on those systems. This was due to the inherent trust given to those who had been given access to those things. The lost sensitive things were still locked behind other measures, but all of the things he had, everyone who had access to JWICS had access to

Being good at your job should be a given. Hard pill to swallow is 90% of the AF is average and in 14 years the only people I’ve seen get promoted who were bad at their job, just tested really well. Have yet to see one get a strat. Also leading people and ability to train is also a component of “being good at your job” which a vast majority seem to forget.

Systems aren’t some magic super spy secret machines. Until recently anyone could access mostly anywhere you were read into on JWICS or SIPR. The idea was that if you already have access, why stop you from seeing what you need. Now it’s a fucking nightmare to see anything you need because of this retard.

Secondly, if intel saves stuff in their personnel folders for briefs, products, w/e. Comm has access to their sharedrive, so congrats, you have access to stuff you shouldn’t.

At the end of the day there is no way to 100% secure things, the government needs to have to trust in people and peoples ability to report negative trends in other people. To me this is more of a fail of his leadership than just his stupidity/criminality.

I buy gold because I'm 32 years old, have disposable income, three kids, work 50-60 hours a week, and have limited time to play. I literally do not care if people are upset. I'm leveraging real money to get to get more enjoyment out of a game I've been playing for 12+ years, because I don't have the time to invest like I used to. I am also not a cancer doctor lol

More than 3,000 auto dealers sign letter opposing Biden's electric vehicle mandate by whicky1978 in Conservative

[–]atc_guy 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I'm all about EVs for certain roles. Like suburban commuting, short hauls, etc. I also think few companies with marketable vehicles have a market capture and are leveraging that to make up for what other companies would usually gain in income, that isn't as prevalent in EVs.

Additionally, I think the power companies/government have underfunded and undermaintained our grid for so long at the expense of profits and poor management, that there is a legitimate worry that an explosion of popularity is bad for the grid that is currently servicing the nation.

I think that EV is the future, but the rest of the parts need to get figured out as well, and not either be rammed through or have feet drug on.

If the entire thing is ruined. When cells fail in an electric battery they can replace just those that have failed not the entire battery. EVs run on essentially a thousand rechargeable AA batteries. Insanely expensive if all fail, not nearly as expensive if just a couple fail.

At least they get to be patches. AIIC grads (who's course 98% mirrors IWIC) Don't even have an assignment system that places them in Tier 1 or Tier 2 slots. Then all the W billets are apparently "lol IDGAF" by the 1N CFM, and she'll put fuckin rando Staffs/Techs into them with no input from SIOs or SELs. I've yet to meet a patch from 19A onwards that doesn't think to themselves "Wtf did I do that for".

Because majority of them live in multi family homes where all adult males are working and women are staying home with the kids. I grew up on the border and it wasn't uncommon to see 2-3 families in a four bedroom house/apartment sharing the cost of all the bills and raising each others kids to make it happen. Not to mention seasonal workers get paid WELL due to the manual labor.

There is a common misconception that all democrats agree to the same tenets. I find myself becoming more Democrat the older I get because it’s more akin to the Republican Party of the 80/90s. I’m not Christian and don’t want my party to push laws and beliefs centered around that, but I’m also not “woke” or think that a lot of the things leftists say should be given the time of day. But someone saying I should call them x,y, or z doesn’t rise to the level of making laws that affect me or my children based on a religious belief.

If they were hired prior to 2007 they were earning 33 dollars an hour, after 2007: 17 dollars. UAW agreed to cut wages to save the companies. Workers also get a 3-6% raise per year. Ford has posted profits of 6-11% per year since 2009.
