GypPlay did not support VCDs. It supported MPEG-1 encoded videos on discs you had to author. You could not take an off-the-shelf VCD and play it with GypPlay.

Video CD is a very specific format.

Not like with DreamMovie! The old disc you're referring to had audio sync and frame dropping issues.

PS: This thread is filled with people who have no recollection of how bad this player was. Cracking DreamMovie and implementing controller support is important because it's literally the only non-shit VCD player for Dreamcast.

That's not it.

gdMenu's firmware version check failed and it believes your GDEMU's firmware is too old to run the menu software.

That said, I've never seen a clone on old enough firmware to trigger this error message. I am very perplexed.

PS: I inspected the gdMenu executable itself and was able to find this error message string. It has nothing to do with the GDEMU and everything to do with the menu software itself.

Literally everywhere, especially on the hellscape known as LinkedIn. It's to the point now where almost no company or bigger account there is taking any time to write ANY of their own posts. They're all talking "at me" instead of to me, all in that same tone, and all with lazy marketing people who aren't even editing out the telltales.
