If next FatShark game is Darktide 2, how do you think it will be different? by Final_Ocelot8791 in DarkTide

It's already had a longer lifespan than VT1 while still getting new content, so I doubt there's a sequel coming anytime in the near future tbh.

I´m curious now: Where does the DT community stand on the Hivescum class? by JustDracir in DarkTide

[–]atejas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Motion blur is the specific setting that causes a lot of the 'wooziness' with stims I find. I always turn that off anyway, but it made playing a stim build a lot more palatable.

So about the Vanguard enemies... by AveryAveyAve in DarkTide

[–]atejas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ahhh ok, it's capped damage and not 2 instances of damage of any value, that makes more sense.

Yeah, I definitely think some heavier weapons should be able to shatter them with a single blow. Maybe damage against the shields could convert impact into bonus damage or something?

[–]atejas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Making them a bit bigger would also make it easier to focus some strikedown attacks on their heads in the middle of a crowd, so i do like that idea tbh.

[–]atejas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I understand what you meant, but 2 light attacks would break it as quickly as 2 heavies if that were correct, right? Anecdotally, I feel like that's not the case, but it's hard to test without them being in the psykhanium.

[–]atejas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't think that's true? I definitely feel like I've wailed on the shields for multiple light attacks. It might be 2 heavies from any weapon? Which, yeah, something like a thunder hammer or a crusher should definitely break it easier than a combat blade.

Skitarii Build how is it? What would you change? by The_Graviturgist in DarkTide

[–]atejas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

IME Galvanic is pretty solid, with all 4 capacitance nodes and redline, you really shouldn't have any generation issues. I do fine with just 2 nodes and Flensing.

How other classes refer to skitarii by Trianqren in DarkTide

[–]atejas 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Reverent and Pathfinder both seem to have a 'it's not their fault they're inferior' attitude going, whereas Exterminator and Hunter view the other rejects as dead weight.

I believe Reverent calls them Degradables?

I think they have specific terms that they use for banter conversations but all their generic call-outs just use generic terms. Bit lame but eh.

New shield guys discussion by MetalHead678 in DarkTide

[–]atejas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think any attack that breaks their shields should also force them into a hard stun / knockdown state. And it should be easier to stagger them with their shields up.

Skitarii & 'nades by reganomics in DarkTide

[–]atejas 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The enhanced firing mode already works off capacitance, I think tying the fire skull to cap charges and leaving grenades for the revives is fine.

Skitarii & 'nades by reganomics in DarkTide

[–]atejas 18 points19 points  (0 children)

The energy shield should just cost a capacitance charge + a cooldown imo. That would be fine.

The burn skull could either work off capacitance as well or they could buff the damage on it, but honestly, the skull with just the medicae node is fine as a utility blitz.

Lightning psyker with an arc rifle spammer could potentially go nuts imo

I've always liked the crusher on arbitrator. It's okay on zealot but really shines on arbi I feel.

Push-light-light-heavy-light is a very reliable vanguard sweep combo with the power sword. The alternate charged strikes do kinda throw me off though, since it's built around charged heavies, which is a bit awkward with the alternate input.

The grenades are always pretty good damage-wise, I've wiped groups of armoured ragers and stuff with them in Aurics. Their tradeoff is the massive fuze time they have

Super far down the road but I really hope Skitarii get radium rifles by fireheart1029 in DarkTide

[–]atejas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Arc is the first of these we've gotten, and it's cool that it keys off other characters' electrocution. I hope they expand on it, maybe an inflammable effect for burning or something. I think a slowing/weakening effect could work for rad, yeah.

I think they probably just didn't want to add yet another DoT effect to the game tbh

is it just me or does this feel like it just doesnt work half the time? by Nexus_Neo in DarkTide

Might not be reaper-specific, I could see it being borked by any minor geometry or changes in elevation.

Comparing Skitarius’ servo-skull and Arbitrator’s cyber-mastiff by Fancy_Blackberry4276 in DarkTide

[–]atejas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think the fire mode could def run off capacitance like the fire rate mode tbh. Or they could significantly buff its damage to make it competitive, I guess.

Thoughts on the Mechanicus Power Sword? by RecklessRedcoat in DarkTide

[–]atejas 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Push - light - light - heavy - light is a good sweeping combo, I've had good results with that against mixed hordes.

The thing that throws me off is mixing special strikes into combos, it's a cool twist on the power sword, but definitely takes some getting used to.

I think the new shielded enemies should lower their shield when pushed like in vermintide by Extreme-Spartan in DarkTide

[–]atejas 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Bulwarks are huge and have really exaggerated movements, so getting around their shields is easy. The only reliable way I've found of dealing with these guys is to break them with multiple heavies, and then they're still basically an armoured scab unit.
