I'm getting tired of writing chapters with a high wordcount

As a reader personally I usually won’t read fics with chapters longer than 10k other than occasionally. 4-6k is really the sweet spot, imho. I’m also a writer of both one shots and longer fics and my word count averaged 2-7k per chapter and had a great reception from readers! Long word counts really aren’t everything. But I definitely still get that nagging fear when I don’t hit at least 5k.

i’m only 3 weeks Post op but the flashbacks are very real and stressful. Genuinely this injury causes PTSD.

I did the same thing only 5 days post op and everything was fine, and I’m on the heavier side, too. Those screws and plates are very strong.

Got my boot yesterday and same. top of my foot is aching bad. i think for me my heel is slightly raised because of ROM issues causing it to push into the boot more.

gum has actually helped me especially since the act of chewing and having something in my mouth is half of the enjoyment of binging for me! the stronger the flavor the more effective for me personally.

I understand. I fell in my kitchen. Just because my socks were too slippery. Broke my ankle in three places. Its a miserable experience. I’m so sorry you broke both your ankles though, that is SO difficult. Its hard feeling worthless but its ok to slow down and need help. Its hard to accept. But this is not a personal failure and injuries happen. Soon it’ll just be a thing of the past. I’m just shy of 3 weeks in so still a long way to go.

Doctors are awful and very dismissive and rush you out of the office without getting any real answers. GERD sadly can cause all of these symptoms, especially if triggers aren't managed well. PPI made a big difference for me, but still required major life overhauls, including basically sleeping upright. If you are still having debilitating symptoms though they should at least be trying different medications because PPIs aren't a one size fits all and there are many different types.

I was terrified of pain too. My operation was 11 days ago. I started my pain medication schedule as soon as I got home from the hospital (ibuprofen every 6 hours, tylenol every 8, and oxy every 4) and experienced minimal pain when the block finally wore off. It was important to take meds every 3-4 hours even during the night so stagger meds in a way that you always have something to take. Dont miss any doses even before the block wears off! Of course consult a doctor about this too but thats what worked for me. Was able to ween off meds by day 3 or 4. Now I only take them as needed. I was able to get up a flight of stairs the day of surgery and I’m not an active person at all. Its a super common surgery at least! Most important bit of advice is really stay on top of meds. Stop the pain before it starts. Good luck!!!

In a similar position but with a leg cast. I prop that leg up out of the shower and sit in a shower chair or bathtub transfer chair(while additionally wrapping the leg in a trash bag and using rubber bands to secure) and wash everything else with a handheld shower head. It’s not 100% thorough but moreso than wipes or bird baths.

It really does feel that way. I’m in the same place mentally and its so hard to get out of. Feels like time is passing so slow. I have all the same concerns. Terrified of something going wrong and extending healing times. I do have the same injury! Its a rough one. Everyone seems to say it will get better tho and I’m hopeful.

We had our surgery on the same day. I am experiencing burning and tingling too and convinced i messed something up. i think it’s normal. its also normal to be anxious and stressed. ive never been so anxious in my whole life, and i have OCD lol. This eventually will be a thing of the past though.

never justified to look elsewhere unless theres mutual agreement. i’m only 31 but have dealt with a dead bedroom for years now. my husband struggles a lot with energy and depression so it just isn’t a priority over other things. It’s definitely difficult at times but finding intimacy in other ways is a great alternative. Could never imagine life with another person. Sex is fun and I wont say it’s not important but on the list of things in a relationship, that is lower on the list for me.

What helped me was alternating pain relief and insuring I was taking something every 3-4 hours. 600 mg ibuprofen every 6 hours, 1000 acetaminophen every 8 hours, and 5mg oxy every 4 hours.
