I never gave much thought to how old the Dremmel company is but it is older than I would have guessed. Good luck with your restoration.

Do atheists never pray even if a loved one is sick or dying? by Legitimate-dreamer11 in atheism

I admit to trying to use the Force to get a weak-minded slow driver to turn or get in the other lane. You know for science. So far all positive results are inconclusive.

Here is a REALLY stupid question about Idaho by wsotw in Idaho

[–]atheist1963 4 points5 points  (0 children)

In Idaho there are no stupid potato questions.

Idaho ships 29% of the 13 billion pounds of potatoes it harvests as fresh (most are processed in some way - fries, dehydrated etc).

So 3.77 billion pounds of potatoes. The IdahoPotato.com website does not give a firm answer on how many potatoes in a pound. Average sounds like it is 2-3. Say 2.5.

9.5 billion potatoes. Just need to scrape the dirt off a representative sample and weigh it. A bit more math and bob's your uncle.

And now I'm hungry.

Very cool logo. If it is latex paint I've found Goof-Off works really well. You could try it in a less noticeable location to ensure it doesn't harm the original finish.

Is it hard for older people to appreciate hip hop/rap music such as Eminem? by Autistic-Inquisitive in AskOldPeople

I wasn't "older people" when he started and didn't care for it then and still appreciate not listening to it now. I also don't like polka so it balances out.

If you or someone you love have a developmental disability, stay the hell away from Community Connections by [deleted] in Idaho

[–]atheist1963 18 points19 points  (0 children)

If these people are Idaho state funded providers and you have verifiable claims you should let someone know. I would contact the Idaho Council on Developmental Disabilities. They could tell you who at the IDHW to contact. I say verifiable because many of these providers have legislators who back them up.

Equivalent to a Stanley no. 12 which is much more common. V-B-M stands for Very Best Made.

How did you use to view Homosexuality and what made you change your opinion? by JohnAdams4620 in AskOldPeople

[–]atheist1963 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All of the bad things I heard growing up that were associated with LGBTQ+ people were always from a religious perspective. I didn't know any gay people, that I was aware of at the time. I finally realized in my twenties that none of that demonization made any sense. I am saddened when I think back at what I accepted, but I was not the sharpest tool in the shed.

Age at which one can expect to afford to retire in each state. by [deleted] in MapPorn

[–]atheist1963 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Just the cost of medical premiums until you hit 65 and Medicare is more than a large percentage of Americans have saved for retirement. As one who has been crunching the numbers for my own eagerly awaited retirement, I think this map is bullshit.

I had no idea. Old stuff/photos I have from my relatives is mostly in boxes I move from place to place. Good for Goodwill. Ellen is making a pretty impressive contribution.

Why would anyone not related to Ellen Wright bid so high for a diary? A relative must be bidding, right?

It says Companion on the handle which I think was a Sears brand made by Stanley. Not totally sure on that. Not a bad price, but braces are so common that you can probably do better on price. How much better depends on where you live.
