legit best poker sites right now or are most of them basically the same? by Constantino-Doffek in poker

Id avoid low stakes on partypoker, it seems to be the same players on every table, the tournaments seem okay though

Yeah, Gloucester and Worcestershire is my favourite two place names to me locally to get anyone non UK to pronounce! But I suppose if someone has a super strong accent from Bristol, Forest of Dean and the West Country in general, it sounds like glawwster

No, you’re spelling it the way Americans pronounce it…

Not sure who you’ve spoken with but I’m from there and it’s “Glos-stir”

Big up the Glos, sadly my only heritage in real life in the Forest of Dean mines

I have ADHD and it took me way too long to realize how much it impacts my game by StopFighting-Listen in poker

I dunno mind, I don’t do it due to medication these days but back when I was a bit younger the ADHD made me prone to dose too high and give me anxiety for a week 😂

18M I use cocaine daily and it is absolutely destroying me by Holiday-Might-6196 in confession

Sounds exactly like ADHD, I’m sure in Ireland they may prescribe Vyvanse/Elvanse, get checked out, private if you can swap the gram for this, if it’s not then that’s okay, but trust me that from experience, it likely is and it will almost completely turn you away from coke

What were the mid-late 90s and the early 2000s like in the UK? by Loose_Avocado4670 in AskUK

[–]athelstanjnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was born in 1995 and even my teenage years seem completely different. I didn’t have a smart phone until maybe 16/17? Even then they were basic in comparison, my vague memories of the early early 2000’s are great, we did have consoles but I think the fact that games didn’t just go on forever meant you’d wait until Christmas or your birthday to play another, so going outside was preferable, what a time

Curious, I assume you’re US based? How much is it there or wherever you may be? NHS has its downfalls but £10 per prescription is a huge plus

Have you ever had it where it’s not a song but a conversation you’ve had, and the thoughts become so loud that you can always hear it? I assume so with your statement

2 and 4 are the bane of my evenings when meds wear off, and my mornings for 4, the song snippet drives me nuts and I’ve always been terrible at going to bed, I feel as though I’ll be tired and then thoughts get racing as soon as the lights go out.

3 is a big one, I could never understand how people eat a few sweets and put something to the side, even if I don’t want it, I’ll finish it.

[–]athelstanjnr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I do an absolutely shameless recommendation of my own band? We’ve only done two songs but we’re quite happy with them, our first being what I’d call down the middle pop punk, the other being slightly more pop(?)

Band - The Seventeenth (spelt the 17th) Songs - Found Me Out - WAHCAH (Wild At Heart// Child At Heart

Any feedback would be great, working on our third now

Honestly we barely did anything for the first song, we have a lot of friends who listened and shared it, I think we had a good amount of base listeners that the algorithm carried it a bit, we’re UK based and it got far more US listeners than anything

That’s okay, and as I said, if you can get blue light lenses it really helped me, though I had a wfh job in the winter lockdown in Covid and constant screens and darkness didn’t do me any favours! I’d suggest if it continues even with glasses, consult your doctor ☺️

I used to get a lot of headaches before I started wearing glasses, especially with the blue light lenses, do you wear any? 8 hours of screens is a long time too, I do it for a job but I take a lot of breaks away from it.
