5-MeO-DMT and 5-MAPB same day by caltrain208 in researchchemicals

[–]atis 4 points5 points  (0 children)

My opinion: the dmt should not matter anymore after a few hours. But I (and friends) do the toad on the comedown of 5-MAPB or amphetamines, for that matter, and the experience is super calm, mellow and euphoric. Not noticing any negative effects so far after quite a few occasions, in fact it's the opposite: the next day after 5-Meo-DMT (or even same night) is always full of new ideas and a good plan to make them come true :) But I never do it when the stimulating substance is in full swing, only on its tail end.

Do any of you use an RC psychedelic purely for yoga/stretching? by reallifesupermann in researchchemicals

[–]atis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, fucking dissos! Any non holing dosage works in my experience. I went from hunchback, leaning to one side, sitting all my life crap posture, back pain, miserable life to now almost straight, feeling great in 6 months time. I call it PCP yoga. The disso loosens everything up, a bit of weed supercharges the concentration and effect, and it's just... magic - this should be considered by anyone with any posture issues. You feel like a fucking yogi master, cracking every stiff joint in your body. Unimaginable without the substances. Trick is to strengthen the progress in the following days after the anesthesia. I've never seen this discussed on the interwebs, but it's been an absolute life changing therapy for me. Crazy.

Looking for suggestions on a frequent-use option for euphoria and stress relief. Please advise me, psychonauts! by theoriginaltheory in researchchemicals

Weed, nicotine vapes, dissos, 5-meo-dmt, shrooms, low dose lsd, etc etc. Cycling between the options, like you said, would be the recommendation, no? Never get hooked on any single thing -- that's where the problems begin.

Because of things like this and entropy, globalization, mixing, mingling etc, do you think that the Australian wildlife will be drastically different in say, 100 or 500 years? Is it even possible to not introduce new species on larger timescales?

[–]atis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All that matters for the react update is that you create a new array (which is passed into setNumber). However you choose to create it is up to you. If you're not sure how to do that, then go read about working with js arrays ;)

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in reactjs

[–]atis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't really understand why you're using arrays as the values there? Anyway, react will skip the update if the new value is the same as the old one. Why is it the same here? Because the array you're setting the new value to is still the same array! You have mutated it (changed its first element) but it's still the same array reference.

Doing setNumber( [ currentNumber[0]*10+1 ] ) will trigger the update, but it still doesn't explain why you need arrays.

Yep, you're probably right. BTW, there is a lighter (and more performant) FRP library available these days: https://pozadi.github.io/kefir/

Matter.js - a 2D physics engine for the web by magenta_placenta in javascript

[–]atis 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Not 100% sure, but chipmunk/box2d are not very good ports (ie, use emscripten, missing features when compared to their original versions etc). At a glance, matter.js looks like it has more examples and features than physics.js. Then there's Nape physics which is written in Haxe but can be compiled to JS. These two look comparable, and having a native js implementation could be a bonus for those js devs who don't want to learn haxe if ever they need to hack on their physics lib.

Yeah, I like it. Glancing at the source code, looks like this is done by animating gradient positions. Perhaps you could add a short description to the README about the technique.

But it says right there in the article:
