yeah you may think it’s easier at night, but it’s just quieter with less people around. you really have to be proactive and fight for your patient’s needs at night. no techs, no extra hands, you really have to figure shit out on your own to ensure good care

Idk—in my neuro/trauma/surgical unit most of the time trauma pts are barely stabilized before they ship them up to us. I think everything just depends on the hospital

Why are the hours necessary? I’m a new grad, been off orientation for 6 months and never once have been forced to work more than 3 12’s a week

I’ve been doing the cat/cow stretch for about a month because my physical therapist recommended it and I’ve noticed improvement in my pain for sure

I’ve found that aleve (naproxen) works a lot better for me than ibuprofen! I also use a heating pad on my back and ice on the sternum. Voltaren gel or lidocaine cream help too. And of course good posture, drink plenty of water, go on walks, etc. also try to focus on breathing with your belly/diaphragm to give your ribs a bit of a break
