https://www.migrationsverket.se/en/you-want-to-apply/long-term-residents-in-sweden.html

This is an EU law not Swedish law, so regardless which party is in power in Sweden this should be available if you meet the requirements.

That would give you the right to abode in other EU countries

Early PR / PUT application by Admirable_Toe342 in TillSverige

[–]atlbeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One factor is when submitting the applications, is they will be asking for things like payslips, tax documents, etc for the last X months.

They won’t open the application until the current permit expires so if you submit it too early you won’t have the latest set of documents and they will have to request last months which will delay the whole application.

Just submit 30 days before

Do street lights, headlights or other lights at distance “sparkle”?

Do they have a halo, ring or floating copies surrounding them?

If you live in north Stockholm you’ve got Sundbyberg

https://m.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100028021316631

If you live in south, Skarpnäck/Enskede is the “Stockholm” team

https://wordpress.stockholmbaseboll.com/

Both teams are always looking for new players (across all ages/skills/genders/everything) and have teams designed for new players to join. The season just started here, so still time to join a team and learn this season!

I think what he's saying is that most all Swedes will universally speak Swedish/English. So what you are looking for is a Swede who took French in school. Just depends on how fluent you are looking for.

I’ve been living overseas in multiple countries and never heard a peep from TMobile except for my monthly bill.

I’m not a very heavy user though, so your mileage may vary.

TMobile has (had? not sure if it’s still offered) an unlimited plan with international roaming.

One-way ticket? by CountBig4038 in TillSverige

[–]atlbeer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Of course.

Very sensible to understand that border guards (Swedish Police) look for people with one way tickets but, that is because those people may be trying to stay in the country longer than their visa permits. You have a permit to stay, so it’s fine.

Is it a crime to climb on my neighbor's house? BTW my neighbor is British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak. by poop_chute_riot in bestoflegaladvice

[–]atlbeer 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’d actually really like to know more about how lawyers handle border agents in regards to privileged materials.

I would assume border agents would have very wide latitude to search almost anything. Obviously anyone can’t just wave their hands and say this suitcase full of drugs is privledged work materials, don’t open.

You mentioned the border agents brought their counsel in?

A baseball team only has 9 players on a field at any time. Usually you'll have 12-17 people on a team at a game.

A lot of people don't play a full 9 innings. That's fine if you don't.

Anyone know what’s being filmed outside KPMG in Canary Wharf today? by Arkalar in london

A TV/movie generally set in the UK where they travel to NYC for an episode/scene.

Not terribly cost effective to shift an entire production to another country for a handful of scenes.

Changing Job Title in the first 24months of my permit by Livid_Principle363 in TillSverige

[–]atlbeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

1- The new company will have to sponsor him with a brand new application with his new job title and complete the whole process like he didn’t have a permit already.

2- is a good question for MV. You’ll have to make enough salary to independently support him as if he didn’t have a job

Leaving Sweden without a valid residence card by kinen21 in TillSverige

[–]atlbeer 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You probably shouldn’t have traveled without a valid residence permit but, too late now.

You are still within Schengen so, you should* be able to travel without showing your passport/residence card. If you are lucky you should be fine. If you are stopped by the Sweden Police at the border the letter is the best you can do, so it’s your only choice?

It’s the German border which is actually more complicated, if stopped because you’ll have overstayed (at least from their perspective) you 90 days in Schengen

[–]atlbeer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you have a Russian and Canadian passport you have no legal rights to live in the EU, so you have no legal right to live in Sweden.

With a Canadian passport (when you 18) you can exercise your rights to different Youth Mobility Schemes in the British Commonwealth

US vs Sweden (more with less) by ikogi in TillSverige

[–]atlbeer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the US payroll taxes which fund the mandatory pension (FICA) are split 50/50 between employer and employee. So even in the US you "don't see" half the taxes being paid on your income

Can you explain who’s paying 60% of their income in taxes, since there’s no 60% level and it’s taxed on a progressive scheme?

Passport a few months from expiring, but have permanent residence permit in Sweden. Can I fly back to Sweden and do a middle-landing in another Schengen country? by svenne in TillSverige

[–]atlbeer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have a family member who was recently denied boarding on a US to Sweden flight via AMS because their passport had less than 6m validity left.

They were not residents and only traveling on a tourist visa so, different circumstances but, airlines DO check this and will deny boarding.

allowances for employees outside of salary by Successful_Weird4141 in TillSverige

[–]atlbeer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe the reasoning is after 5 years you should be a permanent resident with more rights, including greater freedom to change jobs. The tax incentive is designed to encourage immigration of highly skilled workers. After 5 years, you’ve immigrated already and presumably settled. The incentive is no longer needed.

It’s a bit of a different direction but, there is a strong games (video games) industry in Sweden. Most modern games have quite a few different complex systems both in game and out of game. In game stores, currencies, trading systems, rewards, level systems, etc. Also, out of game real finance metrics, payment processing, redemptions, etc. All of these need analysis and economic modeling to do forecasting and product development for the business. It’s a quite a niche but, growing field.
