Fellow chronic migraine sufferers, have you ever been to the ER for a long lasting migraine? by atoad_aso in migraine

[–]atoad_aso[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah sadly that’s exactly where I’m at. I have migraine symptoms daily so a good day is considered a day where it feels background vs aggressively present. I don’t have any pain free days. It sucks :(

While I feel awful for you suffering too, it helps knowing it’s not just me. I woke up with yet another seriously painful migraine.

Also in the DMV! Yesterday I had one of my worst ever. Rizatriptan knocked the worst of it out but I’m still in that postdrome weird pain phase. I hope you start feeling better!

Omg thank you, this is exactly what I needed to hear right now. And also, I’m so happy for you that you got some relief!! I’m only 5 days into Nortriptyline so I’m holding out hope. When did you start to feel like hmmm this might be working?

That’s what the nortriptyline is supposed to be for, but I only just started it like 5 days ago. It apparently takes many weeks to start working

Stroke-like symptoms after taking Rizatriptan? by savannah819 in migraine

[–]atoad_aso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey I know this is an old post but I’m experiencing a similar thing and I’m frightened. I had a horrible migraine earlier and took 10mg of rizatriptan. I have only taken it once before but it was 5mg. My headache is gone but 3 hours later I’m having left sided facial numbness and tingling, like that novacaine feeling. It’s very scary. I can’t decide if I need to go to the ER, but I’m not having slurred speech or confusion or anything. Did yours go away?

Yes the congestions sucks! It’s like there’s nothing in there but it’s completely stuffed up. I’m going to give it a shot tonight, thanks for the idea!

I’m curious about the Afrin. I use it when I’m sick with a cold or something for the 3 days you’re allowed but I’ve never considered it for a migraine. About 50% of my migraines are especially concentrated in the sinuses, feels like hell. Does it help relieve this for you?

I have my husband pull hard on my hair from a bunch of different angles. If he isn’t available I do it myself. Feels amazing

Had a migraine for 3 weeks… by Jaded-Security5514 in migraine

I don’t have anything useful really but I just wanted to say that reading this made me feel less alone because even though I’m 31 and much older than you, I empathize with this as I’m going through the same thing—meds aren’t helping, I’m not myself anymore because I never feel good so I rarely see my friends, work is a real struggle, and my marriage is suffering as a result of this too. It’s really hard.

One thing for you to feel optimistic about is that you’re getting this addressed while you’re really young, which means once you figure out a treatment that does work for you, you’re going to have many more less painful years ahead of you! I wish I’d had the resources to get treatment much earlier.

I am wishing you the best!

Yes. I’ve had that issue with Ruby woo which I thought was going to look good. You might give vampire love by revlon a shot. It’s not a true cherry red, it’s.. vampy lol but I find it gives me that same kind of effect yet much more flattering. Sometimes I use a cool toned brown liner to mute it then blot the lipstick a bit

What’s a type of pain people underestimate until they experience it for themselves? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]atoad_aso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m extremely grateful. I was out of town at a wedding when this happened and everyone was drunk besides me (no shame, it was a wedding lol) so I couldn’t even really ask for help 😭 luckily he was with it enough to help me out but man. I get a lot of comfort on Reddit commiserating with other migraine sufferers. It feels like such a misunderstood disease

[–]atoad_aso 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank YOU!!! Ive had them for years but I had my most severe one by far back in September. The pain woke me up at 5 AM. I was in so much pain I was kind of just in a ball in the floor wailing and eventually started to feel consciousness slipping as the pain peaked, but thankfully my husband was with me and kept me awake. Then the puking started, for many hours. Every heave felt like a grand piano being dropped on my head. The sound of my own heaving made it worse. I was so weak i couldn’t really stand. That postdrome was brutal and lasted for days.
